The bible never says the earth is a sphere either; Isaiah 40:22 uses the word meaning circle, circles are flat.

To answer the question the bible was written by primitive humans who thought the earth didn't move, they were wrong.

This makes me rather a lot as incredulous as even as Obama charged the genuine of NASA with "outreach to the muslim global" as one among his significant responsibilities. i assume the "disproving the Flat Earth" project is coming to an end. it truly is likewise accessible that the mistakes one can make by technique of basing their existence on a literal interpretation of the Bible can be a lot less perpetually unfavourable than the mistakes one can make by technique of no longer doing so...only my opinion, inspite of the truth that. throughout the eternal a lengthy time period, as we walk and talk with a literal Savior, lets get the reason of why... If we in no way make it there, we are able to in no way understand. perhaps the inability of self belief of being "suitable" about technology, yet 'incorrect" about God is only too a lot for those Flat Earth kinds.

It is the rare person who does not understand that the Bible is absolutely true while not being meant to be taken absolutely literally.
Basic writing and reading teach a number of devices to tell "the story" metaphor, analogy, allegory, similitude.... and so on.
The "four pillars" is not to be taken literally.

Serena is correct, and I don't think there is a single person alive who takes EVERYTHING in the Bible literally, B. If so then where is that big statue discussed in Daniel, hmm?
It's called literary merit.

Isaiah 40:22

22 It is He who sits above the circle of the earth,
And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers,
Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain,
And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.

See what happens when you repeat hear say.....you look like a fool.

Isaih 40:22 says God was sitting on the circle of the earth. Do not even try to mock your creator with half cooked brains - or you will be thrown in the lake of fire which is flat like you.

The Bible does not say that the earth is flat.
Have you ever heard of a figure of speech? Or descriptive language?

Brenden please show me where the bible says the earth is flat? It doesn't. Christians were among the first to know the earth wasn't flat even when the rest of the world thought it was.
