Here's how to make a great beef roast the easy way, that is, if you own a crockpot or slow cooker. Get a roast that is going to fit easily into your slow cooker, put it in there, put a few cups of water in there, enough to almost cover it, then sprinkle an envelope of onion soup mix over it. Put the lid on, set the temperature to low, and let it go for 8-10 hours, and you'll have a fabulous, tender, juicy roast! Serve with mashed potatoes, a veggie side, and some rolls, and you've got yourself a great meal! If you want gravy, you can use the juice from the slow cooker to make gravy. Just add your thickener, turn the heat up to high, and let it go for 30 minutes, done! Enjoy your meal! Hope this helped! Have a great day!

Buy a roast, remove from package and place in roasting pan, add two cups water to pan (pouring over roast), sprinkle spices over roast as preferred, preheat oven to 350 degrees, place pan with roast in oven until internal temperature reaches 170 degrees Fahrenheit (a couple of hours or so depending on size), remove from oven.

All American Roast Beef

"This is your basic everyday eye round roast beef. Simply cooked to perfection. Serve it to family or company. The secret is in the time cooked. 20 minutes per pound at 375 degrees."

INGREDIENTS

* 3 pounds beef eye of round roast
* 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
* 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
* 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). If roast is untied, tie at 3 inch intervals with cotton twine. Place roast in pan, and season with salt, garlic powder, and pepper. Add more or less seasonings to taste.
2. Roast in oven for 60 minutes (20 minutes per pound). Remove from oven, cover loosely with foil, and let rest for 15 to 20 minutes.

Notes

Regardless of the size of your roast, always cook at 375 degrees, for 20 minutes per pound.

Slice thinly and serve with gravy, mashed potatoes, salad and veggie of choice. You can also slice fresh mushrooms, season with salt and pepper, saute in butter, and add to your favorite canned or jarred beef gravy. Be sure to stir in juices from meat before serving gravy.

Blessings,
David

English Roast Beef

INGREDIENTS
5 pounds beef round roast
salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup water
1/2 teaspoon dried sage
1/2 teaspoon dried mint
1 medium onion, sliced (optional)
1 clove garlic, minced (optional)
1/8 teaspoon seasoning salt (optional)
1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cold water
1/4 teaspoon dried sage
1/4 teaspoon dried mint
DIRECTIONS
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Season the roast with salt and pepper to taste. Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Brown the outside of the roast on all sides in the butter. After the roast is browned, add 1/2 cup water to the pan, and sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon of sage, and 1/2 teaspoon of mint onto the roast. Place onion and garlic into the pan if desired, and season with seasoning salt and red pepper flakes, if using.
Cover the pot, and place the roast in the oven for 2 to 3 hours depending on how well done you prefer the meat to be. 2 hours for rare, and 3 for well done. Removed finished roast to a pan to keep warm.
Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a medium skillet. Whisk flour into melted butter until smooth. Remove from heat, and stir in 1/2 cup cold water. Mix until a smooth paste is formed. Return to medium heat, and season with remaining sage and mint. Stir in the liquid from the roasting pan, and boil, stirring constantly until the gravy is thickened. Remove from heat. Slice the roast and serve with gravy poured over the meat.

I certainly hope that recipe above me there is from a woman of color.
God forbid a "non-color" woman gives you a recipe and you get sick from it.
