I disagree with those who say they (creationists) don't realize they're spreading lies. I have come across several creationists who willingly admit they are doing just that (in the name of God).

You know, it would help if you specifically said what the lies are that Creationists were spreading rather than just a vague generalization.

Maybe it is the evolutionists teaching lies. Have you actually ever, in an open minded way, considered the issues, or do you just assume what people in white coats tell you to believe is true?

Furthermore, Creationists don't disagree with science that can be observed in the present, like genetics or natural selection, it's interpretations from the past based on the bias that we evolved from molecules that Creationists don't agree with.

Maybe, when you make the generalization that Creations go about teaching lies, it is you spreading falsehoods.

Unless, of course, you were there some millions or billions of years ago to give a reliable eyewitness account...

They're falsehoods, not lies. Most creationists don't realize that what they're saying is false. They simply misunderstand or have been misinformed regarding the issues and the facts of the matter. To lie, one needs to deliberately tell a falsehood; although this may be the case for some, it is certainly not the case for the overwhelming majority.

Those creationists who do deliberately lie may justify lying on the basis that it serves the greater good. The Intelligent Design movement, for example, which is run by a creationist think-tank called the Discovery Institute, deliberately misrepresents their views as scientific and non-religious (even though private documents such as the Wedge Document of theirs, and quotations from their leading supporters in other contexts, have revealed that Intelligent Design is based on their faith in the Bible rather than on scientific evidence), because they believe that doing so is justified for the sake of saving society from a perceived onslaught of atheism and materialism-derived corruption and sin. For example, the Discovery Institute's Wedge Document, which outlines Intelligent Design's PR strategy, states that the purpose of Intelligent Design is to "reverse the stifling materialist world view and replace it with a science consonant with Christian and theistic convictions". The fact that most ID proponents are not forward about this fact, even ones who are aware of it, is because they know that being explicit about their views will work against their purposes, and they care more about saving society from what they think are social ills, than about being honest or forthright about the issues.

It's actually not that difficult to understand; don't you think that helping people is more important than being 100% honest all the time? It's not that creationists are these horrible, terrible people who just lie and deceive for the hell of it. By and large, they're perfectly kind, caring, intelligent people who simply don't fully understand, or don't want to understand, evolutionary biology.

Oh, and for those below who requested a list of the creationist claims we're discussing, most can be found at this excellent site: http://www.talkorigins.org/indexcc/list.html

Why do you ask questions that aren't questions? Ask a question about Creation and we would be happy to answer it.
Why go on the Religion and Spiritual questions topic and want to argue and call us liars? Because evolutionists agenda is to deny God as the creator. Ask the creation and evolution questions/or non-questions at the Science or social science forum.

We are told the second oldest profession is prostitution. The first oldest is Preaching. We have as a whole from the beginning of human kind taught that there is a higher power and we worship it or them or he or she.

I myself believe in pamspermia.

There is nothing false about creation! God is the Creator and Sustainer of all things! HE created all that you see around you and, seeing all that there is around you (the trees, birds, people, etc), you would call creation a lie?! I suggest you read Genesis - it's all about the truth - not lies! God cannot lie because He is without sin and is perfect and infallible! Take some time and read Genesis - that will help you see the truth!

Why would anyone prefer to "believe" they came from an ape or sludge or any other life form, instead of being wonderfully and uniquely made a human; from the very beginning?

Why are you so afraid to accept, that can be wrong? Are scientists 'infallible'?

Regardless of YOUR 'thoughts, beliefs, or opinions', they will not and do not change who Yahweh (God) is or His Holy Word.

you'll have to be specific on here if you want real responses. if there are lies you can prove it. if not, change your mind. but don't go around being generally condescending. you do your side a disservice.

Because they tell the truth - or they will just turn up like you and become fertilizer when they die . You seem to relish that this life is your final existence, so be it.

Some of them are really strange. Others, like Kent Hovind, are actually science teachers.

But then you don't care about that, do you? Credentials really don't matter unless they come from people who agree with you?
