The main advantage to cornflake crusted chicken is that it is a low-fat alternative to traditional fried chicken. I have yet to see a cornflake recipe involving frying and I cook a lot.

But based upon comparing traditional vs. cornflake crusted recipes, I don't think it would be a good idea to fry cornflake crusted chicken. The reason? Unlike batter coatings, cornflakes are already cooked. They could overcook, burn or get soggy in the oil.

I think baking is the best option to be on the safe side.

You can deep fry corn flake encrusted chicken..be careful how dark it gets and pull out when you get the right color and finish in the oven if chicken is not done.. make sure the chicken is very cold when you put in oil for that extra crispy crust :)

baking is really the only option hon because if you fry it the grease will soak up into the corn flakes and ruin them

No...maybe you could deepfry it. Try a sample piece...about the size of a piece of stir fry and see how it works.

Why the hell would you put cereal on chicken? That doesn't even make sense.
