He told me he was self-injuring by scalding himself in the shower, but i found out all those little scabs were actually meth sores, crank bugs, speed bumps. Yes, I'm a gullible idiot. He's in AA, and goes to meetings every week, purporting that he's been clean and sober 4 years. He's such a success, they ask him to talk at different events. I'm out, and I'm over the shock. Is there anything else I'm supposed to do? (aside from getting tested for every disease under the sun-clean thank God) B-t-w eharmony sucks.

I would agree with you, eharmony lets people be who ever they want to be to sometimes lure victims.....anyways...that gave me the creeps..
You broke up, so do it cleanly and stop being around him or knowing what he is doing. This only gives you doubts about the breakup and making you wonder if he will be with you again. If he disrespected you that much to give you diseases from him that he didn't even bother telling you about before hand, what is this guy going to be like with your child? Will he give your child a disease, also, because he is just such a nice guy?
Although its very tempting, I usually reject those giving guys and stay healthy, but that is just my advice.....
Don't rat on him, he might be doing the wrong thing right now, but it will catch up to him when it hurts him the most (and hopefully makes the most amount of change in his life.) Coming from you might only make your telling sound cheap and petty, even though you are concerned about his life even still.....
Let him self destruct and if you still feel the same way for him then you could always welcome him back after he has fallen on his face. You sound very compassionate and that you really do love him, so let him come back if he does, if not, then know that the Lord has someone else for you......Good luck to you....

It depends on how long you have been departed from one another on when you should get the 2nd HIV test. If your not drug smart as think its time that you start asking questions. I had to. I have been around those idiots and I was a idiot not knowing the signs or symptoms. I went to the health department and started talking to counselors, went to drug rehab centers. I felt so stupid, I refused to be ignorant again. Ask your local police department. They can show you some pictures of what the druggies look like before and after . They always get arrested more than once.They can show or tell you what the different drugs look like and how people react to then, and the damage it does to them. Thank God he never got busted with you being around him. Tell his AA group what he is doing they usually end up steal everything they can from anyone they can. I would tell everone out their you guy's know he's a methhead and for warn them but don't be surprised if they are users all so. Stay away from him and thank God you found out.

Sounds like you have done some of the correct things, get checked for all of the icky things you could get from this looser. I would also get down on my knees and thank whoever you pray to that you did not get pregnant, beaten up, or flat out killed. Not to be funny or extreme, but damn, if you do not want his sorry @ss crawling back to you saying I am clean and I LOVE YOU. Change your name, address, telephone#, and your hair color too. Not the people you want to mess with.

Announce it to everyone you both know. And the AA people he is duping also have the right to know. I would even chat with the Vice Squad to see if they might try bringing down his dealer,too.
If you think this is a betrayal, consider how he has betrayed you!
Others need to be warned.

well i would say you should be doing anything from not caring to making your current situation into conversation material to make new friends
oh yeah and i know eharmony sucks because my roommate uses it and i feel sorry for all the girls he gets matched with

That's pretty shocking that someone using would want to go to meetings. Are you sure he didn't recently start using again? Did he tell you his injuries were drug-related. How sad! I'm sorry for your pain. Peace to you.

His name isn't bill is it? i had the SAME thing happen to me...my ex swore he wasn't doing drugs but always had scabs on his legs and sores,he told me they were a allergic reaction to his uniform (he was a mechanic)..like a complete idiot i believed him but the truth eventually came out....along with the fact that he was cheating on me with 3 other people!!!!! RUN fast the other way and be glad your done with him!!
