Washing is a big part of taking care of one's complexion. Yeah yeah yeah, I know you've heard that a million times, but its true. And a part of that is making sure you have the right tools for the right job. You need to make sure your sink, soaps and washrag are all clean. Having a clean sink is important, I mean, you don't want nasty residue from your kid sister shaving her legs at the sink in there , do you? eewwwww!! ( you see it in commercials all the time, I didn't just come up with that one people!! And a friend of mine's little sister used to do it all the time in a hurry... totally gross!!)
Anyway, clean sink , yeah yeah yeah..
Ok. Soap. What kind of soap? You want to make sure you have a soap for your kind of skin. Read the labels. You want a cleansing bar, but you also want to make sure it isn't loaded with all kinds of perfumes or scents, as these are really great at irritating the skin. You might also want to look into gettig some kind of an astringent i fyou have a particularly bad problem with acne.
A facial cloth is important. I would suggest you go to the store and buy a package of good cloths that are a specific color or pattern just for yourself and ask that your family respect that these are yours , for your face cleaning routine and that they please not use these. Yeah yeah yeah, I know. In some families this will be like waving a red flag in front of a bull, right? Mine too growing up. Love little brothers. Just try to make sure that the cloths you use each day start out clean and dry.

Now, onto the washing. First you'll want to wet your face with warm water, not hot. Then lather up your cloth with the facial bar that you have chosen and gently start washing your face. Work from the bottom upwards, as pulling down will cause the formation of early wrinkles and lines ( this'll matter when you're hitting your 30's , trust me...) . To help to get rid of blackheads on your nose, put the cloth between your fingers at the top of your nose and gently kind of squeeze them together as you pull the cloth downward-- this sorta pulls the blackheads out of the pores. Do this a few times and especially work on areas of your nose where you see trouble spots.
When it comes to zits, keeping your skin clean is only a part of the solution. Using an astringent may be needed if you have an especially oily complexion. Follow the directions on this, as some of these vary in their usage.

Diet is another part of keeping a healthy complexion. Oily, and high-fat foods just aren't healthy for the skin. Eating foods rich in vitamins and healthy minerals will go a long way in keeping skin healthy. Also, laying off of carbonated and sugary drinks . WATER WATER WATER! Inside and out ! These so-called "healthy" waters are nothing but vitamin enriched kool-aid when it comes to keeping skin and bodies healthy. If you want healthy skin and hair, keep to a balanced diet and keep hydrated with water, the way nature intended !

I have some blemishes as well and combination skin like you. I recommend aveda anti acne outer peace found in aveda stores locally. it is pretty expensive, about 120 dollars for the full set of cleanser, exfoliating pads, treatment and lotion but worth it. its plant based and gentle. you need to use it for about a month before u see results and it always depends on your actual skin. if the acne isnt too severe it should help alot!! also, there is a clay mask called lerosett which is a swedish clay mask and it sucks out all impurities and only contains water and clay. you just put it on your problem areas for an hour without talkin. you can leave it on overnight too. you can get it by going on google and searching lerosett skin care mask by skin care by michelle. its about 24/25 dollars but so worth it and lasts or monthes. i swear by these products!! good luck i know how much acne sucks

I really wish someone would have told me years ago that all I needed to do was to take a Q-tip with some alcohol on it when a pimple first starts to fester under the skin and it dries it out after you do it a couple of days. You dont' want to do anything near your eyes because it does dry out your skin, so after the pimple(s) clear up, apply a little lotion to face but not around eyes-becuz of the creams weight you will get bags.

God Bless You

I'm going to share with you my personal regimine, it works great for me so hopefully it'll work for you. I have combination skin and my skin is senstive too. I use Aveeno Clear Complexion cleansing pads daily to wash my face with, then I use Palmer's Skin Success Eventone facecream afterwards, not only to aid with the other product, but it serves as a good moisturizer and sun protectant b/c it has suncreen in it too. Hope this helps!
