The problem is they both contain acetaminophen. Depending on the amount you could be O.D. on the acetaminophen. 1000mg every 6hrs is the max dosage for the acetaminophen.
You can take the vicodin with regular aspirin or ibuprofen.

It's ok to take then together though they both contain acetominophen in them. However, a component of Excedrin is caffeine and may serve to keep you awake rather than facilitate sleep. Each person reacts differently- it's your call. You all are freaking out over 2 drugs. I have patients on 40 at a time! There are at least 5 different types of Nyquil out there. Nyquil Cold/Flu contains 500mg of acetominophen. 500+500 equals 1000, not more. While I wouldn't advise this combo long term, a one time dose is entirely safe provided the patient has normal liver and kidney functions. Further, the liquicap version of Nyquil Cold and Sinus contains less acetominophen, only 325 mg. Again, I agree with the advisories regarding excessive acetominophen, however an isolated combination would not harm a healthy individual.

Yes. You can take aspirin or ibuprofen products with hydrocodone( That's the active ingredient in Vicodin). Just don't mix Tylenol, b/c the Vicodin already contains acetaminophen(Tylenol) and it will be too much for your liver to process.
If your still not comfortable with taking it, call your pharmacist or poison control center for more information.

What happens if I miss a dose?

Since acetaminophen and hydrocodone is taken as needed, you may not be on a dosing schedule. If you are taking the medication regularly, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. Do not use extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
