No it's not we evolved from Monkey's. Its we evolved from a common ancestor to them as a starter. But this is just a comment, I'm really curious to see how many Christians really understand what evolution is. I read the Bible so I can state my arguments without hypocritically stating them. So Christians should understand Evolution properly before arguing against it based on Ignorance.

But please, share your thoughts. I won't judge you either way.

Nunoyvgvn and your argument is "will see animals we supposedly came from" from Apes.

WE DO NOT COME FROM APES!!!
we come from a common ancestor to them. here's a link for people who don't understand this concept

But... all arguments against evolution boil down to either "I refuse to accept it" or "I don't understand it".

Yep I understand the theory.

But I still don't buy it. Evolution is just incredibly hard to swallow when you look at the cellular and molecular aspects of it. Darwin's Black box (by Thomas Behe I believe) is the theist argument against evolution (on a macro species to species level, not within a species like those famous finches). One photo-sensitive cell evolving into binocular eyes seems very simple if you look at the surface, but once you look at all the various mechanisms involved . . . . it quickly becomes unlikely that such a thing could happen by chance. Don't even get me started on the bombardier beetle

And I agree about reading the 'opponents' source material. It makes for a much better debate (and don't think I'm unappreciative.) On that note: If you have any documents or books that address the problem of evolution at the cellular and molecular level I would be interested in hearing about them. And if I may beg your indulgence, check out the book Creator and the Cosmos (by Hugh Ross). It's a look at how current discoveries in astronomy and astrophysics dovetail with the first chapter of Genesis. Compelling stuff (might be a little dry though if you aren't a math/science type. It reads like a textbook).

There's my $0.02, I hope it is appreciated as much as I appreciate your post.

Go tell that to Evolutionists. One here, just recently, reminded us that Chips have 98% of our DNA (big deal, that's 3 million different genes)!

We know and accept most of Evolution.

What we don't except is that theory on "monkeys" and that theory on "randomism."

Most atheists and evolutionists here are still watching re-runs of that movie with Dick York and think it's real, true and factual.

They bought into it and repeatedly try to convience the WORLD it's SOLID REALITY.

Most religions have no problems with Darwin nor the Big Bang (which came from a Catholic Priest).

The problems are with the select few who says "chimps are our grandaddy's" and those who accept the views of Planck and the other randomists, which didn't NOT include Einstein.

This is not to say that Planck is totally incorrect, he's just one voice and there are others in science who don't share his views or even Stephen Hawkings views and I'll wager Hawkings will not be a king pin in 50 years. He'll be forgotten in history. Everyone's just to PC because of his condition.

Few people speak of or remember Brownowski anymore! He was another flash in the pan of the PBS set.

I can more easily believe the story of the Nephilim, the fallen angles and how they breed with man long before I could believe the garbage in evolution.

I use to believe it all, did for 30 yrs....then while going thru science items....I was led to the bible, and I did my own studies.

At most we are a combination of a greater creator and a primitive form of man, not ape. More of a pygmy.

The basis of ape and its DNA closeness is off base. For if you just look at the DNA coding of animals and the ranking numbers, you will see animals we supposedly came from, have more markers than we do. How do you de-evolve.

I am sure by now you know christians refuse to read things like darwin.

Because darwin says WHAT IF a lot.

Darwin never claimed he KNEW the truth, he just put forth a theory. A reasonable, logical one.

But people preferred the more outlandish theory about people walking on water and a animals on arks.

My Anthropolgy Prof. was Catholic, he spent an hour lecturing on how your faith teaching belong in your church and not the classroom before we could begin our lectures on Evolution!
That was the most boring hour of my college studies so far!
But I can only imagine the time it saved for the rest of the semester!

one of the most common arguments i hear from the average young christian is "If we evolved from apes, then why are there still apes?" so my guess is not many really understand it. and it probably starts at a very young age.

How does anyone know what is true unless it applies to you, you have to make up your own mind and not depend on others telling you what is or isn't and that doesn't just apply to evolution it aplies to everything in life.

Thank you. I'm tired of Christians trying to convince me that I'm wrong by telling me that I think we came from monkeys.

i am not a christinan, nor i am much known to bible but i think
my views are certainlly thoughtful::
from stating of earth and till now, there is drastic change of climatic conditions, geographical conditions...
once a time, earth was very hot,nce very cold so this lead ro development of organisms that could nourish in a particular climatic condition, but as situation cahnged they adapted themselves accordingly, they had undergone changes.
i had even heard that long ago, whale was also a animal like woff but as
food became short,it turned to sea for food and undergone changes in a long time(thousand of years) but it still need fresh air to breateh as it LACKS GILLS.
so thoery of evolution is apt to me....
tell me your views if you like on 3.
