Right now, I don't think you can get cheap GAP ammo. Unfortunately, that's what happens when a new catridge comes out. Personally, I think the .45 GAP is a solution in search of a problem, but I'll admit I haven't tried it yet. You can usually get a better deal on the more popular calibers, especially 9mm. Even if the .45 GAP catches on, I think we'll have to wait a while before the prices start getting a bit more affordable.

And Freakyall... don't tread on our hobby. Most of us will only shoot paper targets our entire lives unless we're hunters, and we don't need outrageous ammunition prices to "think twice" before commiting murder.

Bound's hubby here:

The .45 GAP was Glock's attempt to make a .45 fit a Glock pistol. The .45 GAP is what I would call a "fad" cartridge. The .45 GAP is less powerful than the .45 ACP and has not been as popular as the .45 ACP. Because of this few shops carry .45 GAP ammunition and it is not produced in large quantities like .45 ACP or .38 Special. Because of it's limited popularity and limited production it will be difficult to find .45 GAP ammunition, let alone find it at a good price.

Good luck.

The only "cheap" ammo out there is either surplus or calibers that are popular with the police or military. This is why shells .25acp, .32acp, and .380acp usually cost more than 9mm, .40, and sometimes even .45acp. GAP rounds are like .357Sig(or, "auto") rounds. A problem in search of a question, or a marketing thing. Look at it this way, at least you are not buying magnum revolver rounds or 45Colt shells. Now that would get expensive.

Wait a while. If the .45 GAP catches on, the prices will come down as more ammo manufacturers load it. In the meantime, save your brass and consider reloading.

Best.

About the only way you are going to lower the cost of .45 GAP is to reload your ammo. It's too new a round to be much surplus out there.

I don't think this round is going to catch on. Wind up being another 10mm.

i would start reloading its cheaper if you shoot alot and if the gap flops you will have a supply of cheap ammo i reload 45 acp its a little tricky at first but it has been worth it i have thought of making my own bullets to save even more money but you got to clean the barrel more i am still thinking about it thoe

This is the major malfunction with this newcomer, there IS no CHEAP ammo, as all loadings available are factory commercial, at their elevated prices, and will probably remain so, unless the GOV. or the Po-lice pick up on this new cartridge. It WOULD make an excellent upgrade for the sub-standard .40 S(hort)&W(eak) that most Feds are stuck with now, but.......
However......... there IS an inexpensive answer,IF you reload!
One of my dear Brer just HAD to have one of these Glocks, and then almost immediately began with the same snivel.
Luckily for him, I had been manufacturing my own .30 Mauser(7,62x25 Tok.) cases from 9mm Magnum and .223 Rem. cases, so, with my .45 case trimmer and reamer, we proceeded to turn several hundred .45ACP cases into .45GAP's and loaded 'em up for his new weapon. The result worked just fine, and saved him WELL over $100 bucks on our next trip to tear up the desert!

P.S: Ms. Freakytwit, just tend to your housework & leave the MEN to our business, how 'bout it! You're only irritating yourself (and you really ARE good for a LAUGH!)

Bullets should be expensive since we can't seem to find a way to stop anyone from buying the weapon. If you can't afford the bullets then you think twice about what your shooting.
