I only ever fired a gun at a shooting range. My dad is a collector. I shot with his 9mm, one of his hunting rifles & 2 of his shotguns.

Claudy, ah, yeah... Sure, quite possibly a hundred thousand times. I've been shooting rifles since I was twelve and revolvers/pistols since I was eighteen. I passed the 'half-century mark' several years ago. LOL!
I'm pleased you're interested in doing things with your Dad. My son is not particularly interested in shooting (target or hunting), and only one of daughters loves to go target shooting with me, but she won't hunt. My wife enjoys both. Go figure!

Fired bunches. My favorite is a tie between the .45ACP Thompson Submachine Gun on full auto and the M-2, 50 Cal., Browning Machine Gun. If I could afford them I'd still have them.

Yes, I've used quite a few. It's a grand hobby! You're lucky your Dad is willing to introduce you to the shooting sports. Sadly, more and more people are being raised without that experience.

Many, including competitively in high school. If you enjoy it, stick with it and ALWAYS follow the rules.
Shooting is a wonderful sport and the basic right that protects all others, but always remember that once you pull that trigger, there's no calling back that bullet.

Yes, a pistol when I was 6 y.o. (hammer hit me and cut me on my cheek bone). And a shotgun when I was 16 y.o. (almost knocked my shoulder out of joint). Both times I was in the company of an adult.

Years ago I had a Colt 1911A and a Daniel Wesson revolver.
Gave it up after a while, bullets are too expensive just to poke holes in paper.

...guns to me are those HUGE things they used to mount on ships...
