How do you reconcile Jesus crucifixion, death and resurrection? What is the point of the above if we are without original sin? How is Jesus your personal saviour if you don't believe in original sin?

I know the theory about "everyone will be saved" since God is a loving God... but then again that begets the original question, in addition to: How will everyone be saved when Jesus says the only way to salvation is through him and faith without works is dead? Therefore faith + works = salvation. If this can just be seen of faith in Jesus as saviour, what would you be being saved from if there's no original sin?

Thank you for your input!

An extension on the question from Charles H.:
AFTER THE DEATH AND CRUCIFICATION OF CHRIST- ALL WHO REPENT , AND ARE BAPTISED SHALL RESURRECT WITH CHRIST - THEREFORE THERE WILL NO LONGER BE ORIGINAL SIN LEFT FOR BELIEVERS - THE BLOOD OF CHRIST COVERS THEM AS WELL AS ALL FUTURE SINS.

Well then... if one is covered with the blood of Christ and without original sin because they are baptised... that indicates that if I am baptised, and then go out and shoot ten people, I'll still go to heaven? That sounds like I can have my cake and eat it too. What of al those who lead righteous lives, love one another as Jesus said and hurt no one? They go through all that and then the murderer who had his cake and ate it too will share in paradise with the Lord just as the one who lead a righteous life? That sounds a bit backwards. Thoughts?

Original sin, is supposedly adam and eves fault.

EVEN tho the bible says clearly the sin of the father DOES NOT pass down to the son.

And isnt Adam our technically "ultimate father"

But as a good christian, they dont really think too hard about the nature of religion and think more about how neat heaven will be.

The belief that Jesus made salvation available for everyone. That original sin was wiped out. At least that was the reasoning I was ever told for it. There is no reconcilation needed for the crucifixion and death of Jesus. Instead this freed people from the grips of sin.

Where do you get the idea that faith must be earned through works? Works are a natural extension of faith - showing the faith and sharing it with others. But works themselves do not build credit towards salvation. According to the bible - only grace from God.

I'm not really sure I understand your question. You write, those of you Christians who don't believe in original sin. What do you mean by this?

Are you speaking about the sin that happened in the Garden of Eden or something else?

Catholics are taught early in life about original sin as being the eating of an apple. Christians know this never happened. We do however know that the sin in the garden was the disobeying of God's Word. Remember where God tells Adam and Eve not to eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil for in that day you will die.

Of course you know what happened next right. Satan had sex with Eve and then she had sex with her husband which brought forth the two conceptions which gave birth to Cain and Able.

So, I'm not really sure of how a Christian should answer this question? Maybe not at all.><>

THE BIBLE SAYS THE SINS OF THE FATHERS WILL BE PASS ON TO GENERATIONS OF HUMANS - AND IT CAME THROUGH, ALL HUMANS ARE BORN SPIRITUALLY DEAD.

In the New Testament, Jews spoke to Jesus about how Abraham was their ancestor and that they could go to heaven because of him. Jesus told them that whether or not they went to heaven depended solely on themselves and not their ancestors. That is why there is no original sin.

everybody is talking about ORIGINAL sin. Sin is breaking one of God's laws. Now , which law was it that was broken that was labeled ORIGINAL sin. I am serious. It has never been specified. Although I know what it is . Even so like everybody else I would like a little confirmation now and again. Thanks.

The first sin against God that we know of was committed by Lucifer.
