In a lot of species, i know that the male can be an issue with babies, but i see ur dilema, taking him out of the cage may cause to much stress on the mum, cos she has no help, sorry, i tried to find some info 4 u but u didnt say which kind of parakeet it was, and all the sites want u to choose.what i did find spok about males and females and didn't mention any troubles, maybe they just dont like eachother much. But hey this is obvioulsy happened a few times, so try taking him out, at least until they hatch. I mean, if it keeps on happening, wat hav u got to lose? Hope i helped

Get a different male,(are you sure he's killing the babies?)
Sometimes the pair is not compatible..
There could be lack of space in the cage. Maybe you are not feeding them nestling and nesting food.
Perhaps you are disturbing them too much.
Get a booklet at the pet store or library and read about breeding parakeets.
Make sure it's quiet, warm and not too much light.
You can also get a special medicine-like dropper and special l liquid food and hand feed the babies several times a day.

Remove the male from the cage. He may be killing the babies to get the hen to mate again.
