well i seem to find it hard to believe my boyfriend when he says all the nice things about me. maybe its because my mom has raised me to believe most guys are jerks and nice ones come around rarely. well my boyfriend is very nice and one day he even took me out to one of the few nice lakes in Vegas and asked me to dance which was really sweet. he said it was the first time he even tried in a relationship before. I know he is genuine and wouldnt cheat on me (since all of his exs have cheated on him). i just dont know why, half the time, i think he is just BSing. I just want to know if this is normal? or do guys all act nice just to get what they want or get in a girls pants.

a lot of it has to do with your moms "great" advice, but you shouldnt let that get into your head, there are good guys out theres, you must go through your zeros to get to your heros, but i think that if you FEEL (cause it has to do a lot with what you feel) he is honest, then he is, just BE CAREFUL and lookout for any warning signs, but other than that i think thats cute what he did, dont see that too often nowadays, good luck!

A lot of girls dump guys who are nice because they are too "easy". Nice guys always make themselves too available, and treat girls like they're queens, complimenting them too many times and overflowing them with gifts. I, personally, believe that most men are typically nice early in the relationship (maybe just until they get to the sex), but as time goes on, things will start to settle out. If he complains about not getting sex from you and pushes you to have sex then you'll know. Just keep the relationship going for a while longer to see if he really treats you like this frequently.

Some guys will put on a total front until he gets into a girls pants. You just have to be able to tell how genuine he is. Like how does he treat you in front of his friends. If he's respectful and caring in front of them them then he is usually for real.

It is called trust. Not all guys are pigs and sometimes we just have to trust our hearts. He sounds genuine. If he was trying to just get in your pants he would have already succeeded. I hope I find a guy like that.

this is something that is really hard to tell. some guys are sincere while others are super-smooth talkers. a sure but rather harsh way to figure it out is to pretend that you don't want to date for a few years (or want to try dating other people). if he still wants to be with you as a friend, then he really does care.

I have to say that most of us are always looking for one thing that is sex but you should generalize men just because of what your mom taught you, still few of us (including myself) that aren't anything close to that, give him a chance and from what you said he seems to be a cool dude.
