I met with an exercise physiologist today who suggested I get Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds video...so I went on Amazon and holy crap! There are a million different ones. I am in my mid-30s, obese and sedentary. Any suggestions for what video I should start with?

I got one answer earlier (thanks Angie) but I would like some more input.

I absolutely love Leslie Sansone and have at least 7 of her video's. As a beginner I would check out her 1 or 2 mile walk one. The one mile walk is about 18 min's long I believe and you can chose to use 2 mile hand weights or not about 1/2 way through the walk.

It's just enough to get your heart going without leaving you totally breathless. Also there is a scale on the bottom of the screen to show you how long you've gone.

Check out ebay for used copies or you can probabley pick up them at Walmart (I think). She also has them for sale on her website:

I have lost 50 pds on weight watchers and much of that weight was lost doing Leslie's video's as it's much too cold out to walk in the winter. Also I usually work out after my kids have went to bed in the privacy of my own home.

Good luck to you!!! :)

Same thing with me. I prefer to do the walk away the pounds with Denise Austin though.. I am not sure about Leslie Samsone. Any exercise works if you do it... consistently. If you want to move things a little quicker, Tai Bo is the best though.. it kicks your arrse.

I bought a package that had the1 mile and the 2 mile. I started out doing the 1 mile and in a couple of weeks worked my way up to the 2 mile.

I've never done those videos, but I did used to enjoy Denise Austin's 'WalkFit' one. It has different levels for beginner, intermediate and advanced. I actually would like to check out some of Sansone's videos, thanks!
