Send home reading packets that they have to read to the parent.
Chapter books.
Read a Chapter in class and have them read the next chapter ,
and read every other chapter in class on Monday, Wed. Friday.
Short Stories.
Have the kids write a paragraph each on a toic.
the teacher draws the paragraphs outta the bag and makes up a story.
Topics kids like to read increases reading abilities, being read to.
Chapter books.
Writing A Short stories and publishing a class Short Storybook.

let them pick out the books they want to read....i hated reading until my 4th grade teacher let us pick out the books we wanted to do our book reports on from there on out i always got in trouble at school for reading and not payin attention in class
