In USA , Puppies are not aloowed to fly until 10 weeks old. I hope your mom has made certain of the laws according to her airline..Most puppies travel just fine..but 6 weeks old is awfully young.

Usually, dogs have to travel down in the cargo area of the plane(where all the bags are kept). It is a very scary experience for dogs, and many of them end up dying or become severely injured or ill. Airlines do not allow dogs under 8 weeks old to travel in the cargo. She will need to bring them onto the plane with her as a carry-on. She'll need to get them a small crate (look at the airlines website to find out what size), and the crate will need to fit under the seat. I don't think a 6 week dog will survive being stuck in the cargo/luggage area of the plane. They do not get any water or food. They often suffer due to the temperature in the cargo. If they are lucky, someone will be careful when the board them in with the other luggage, but usually they are just thrown around.

Depending on the airline, your mom may be able to carry on the puppies. Some airlines require that the dog be over 8 weeks old to travel. You will have to check with whatever airline your mom is going on. And as to if they will treat them ok on the plane, they arent abused or anything terrible if that is what you are asking. Generally they are gentle with the dogs (if they are putting them in the back of the plane) if they are being carried on, they won't be with any other airline employees..except the ones who think they are the most adorable things in the world and must say hi!

They travel in the cargo area of the plane. They'll be fine as long as the weather is good and it's not too cold. The airline might not even take them if they are under 8 weeks of age. They need to have a certificate of acclimation in the winter months...
Depends on the airline how they are treated, a few of them have bad records, some of them are absolutely great with animals.

I think it depends on the airline and how much the airline workers actually care. Ive seen a show called "Airline" (its sorta a reality show about southwest airlines) and they had a dog that was on a plane for 12 hours, along with plane switching and no one took that dog out of the kennel for a bathroom break. We can say the owner was quiet upset, the kennel and the dog smelled of urine so you know the dog had to go to and no one took him out. So I really think it depends on the airline.

they go on the plane in the place with the luggae but they are secure and in a carrier. being in a plane for more than 3 hours could stress them out a lot so if oyu can get shorter flights that would be best. i odnt think its a good idea because they are so young and very sensetive

they go under the plane and they don't handle them- they just stick the crate in the cargo hold then take them out when they get to the destination.
