i mean hasn't this country been made of inmigrants ever since the pilgrims arrived to this land.

And why do they say inmigrants are draining our sources like welfare. Haven't you all noticed that the reason they come is to look for jobs, since their countries haven't been able to provide it for them. And they do all the jobs nobody wants to do, so they help the economy providing cheap labor.

They also say inmigrants don't asimilate the "American culture" but what's the "American culture" to start with? And i don't think the pilgrims adopted the Native American culture, neither the Americans who lived in Texas adopted the mexican culture, when Mexico used to own it.

Couldn't we just accept each other and keep making this country the beautiful place that it is?

Many people in the country are racist, bigoted, stupid, and tend to blame others for their own laziness and failures in life. It's much easier to say they have crappy lives because the Mexicans are taking jobs or black people are stealing instead of admitting they never went to college or do anything but drink cheap booze all the time. More enterprising people welcome immigrants because they are greedy and love to put them to work under the table, while others are fine with immigrants because they realize the entire country has always been a mix of different cultures coming in from different parts of the world and adding their own identity to the collective identity of America.

No anti-immigrant sentiment here. "Illegal" is the adjective so many people leave out. Illegals come here to work and send all their money to Mexico. Some pay taxes, some don't.

Illegal immigrants are taken advantage of miserably. I've heard that some people hire illegals to work and then never pay them at all. Where can they go to complain?

Illegals are driving our wages down. You say they do the jobs that Americans won't do, but you left out the part that they are jobs Americans won't do for that pay. Do illegals live in communes in Mexico to get by or do they only do that when they come to the U.S.?

The native American Indians didn't have a government in this country. They didn't have a sovereign nation. California, New Mexico, and Texas seceded from Mexico.

Are there terrific Mexican people? Sure. But I don't understand how they think it is their right to just come over here by the millions and then march and raise their flag like we owe them something. I owe them enough respect to politely ask them to go home and help make something of their own country.

Illegal, Illegal, Illegal, big difference, Love legal immigrants people that want to learn the language and to become a citizen and become apart of a melting pot. The illegal aliens that are coming now have no desire to learn English or become a citizen. And they don't do the jobs no body want to do, they just do them cheaper and push people out of their jobs, like all the blacks that use to work in the chicken industry, they were pushed out by illegals who will work cheaper. Having millions of illegal people come into this country, will destroy and undermine all that the earlier immigrants fought for, and have the right to protect. Well what is the Mexican culture to start with, I see nothing in their culture that I want, except a bunch of unwed mothers coming to have their babies and leave us with the bill. Their culture is built on Machismo where the men always cheat on their wives it is their way of life. Our culture is rich in history The American culture has brought so much to this world, but your to stupid to see it. If it weren't for the American culture the world would still be living like Mexico and South America. Almost every invention in the world today has come out of the American Culture. Mexico has been living next to the United States for over 200 years and they can't help their own people, they live next to the best country in the world and they have learned nothing. They have had more time to build a great country then the United States, they can't even use their own natural resources to help their own people. So don't tell me the Mexican culture in great. They suck.

OK heres the truth, no one else would admit it for fear of being labeled a racist. We've got too many hispanics. We'd all be cool with letting the ones here stay, but they keep coming and coming, and now that they're here, they're breeding. Multiplying like roaches. And guess what the rest of us tax payers are paying for them kids, first the medical expenses, and now since they were born here, I'll get to pay for food stamps too. The real problem isn't with the worker who comes over here to earn money to send home, it's the families that move into an area and transform it to a third world country. There I said it. I know it sounds terrible, but if you lived near an area that you saw with your own eyes go from a nice neighborhood a few decades ago turn into a filthy barrio that's covered in graffiti and smells like piss today your perspective changes a little.

I don't think there is an anti immigrant sentiment in the US except for possibly some of the most radical fringe groups. There is, however, a large scale backlash against illegal immigration. Not mentioning that little difference blurs the issue. Yes, they do work hard, but there are undeniable negative effects. Being illegal, many have their families across the border. That is where a large chunk of their money goes. This adds to the US overall trade deficite.

Areas with high rates of illegal immigration have higher health insurance and hospital costs to make up for the higher rate of no pay accounts.

The crime rates are much higher for illegal immigrants compared to legal immigrants. If you really think about it, Crossing the border illegaly is a criminal act. That would make their crime rate 100%. But lets just stick to crimes after entry. I suppose if you feel you will eventually be forced back to your home country, it is easier to rationalize criminal acts.

In areas of high illegal immigration, wages tend to be more depressed (for example... San Diago).

There are plenty of reasons fueling this sentiment. I have only listed some. I hope this brings some light to the issue.

There is no anti-immigrant sentiment in the U.S. There is only anti-illegal immigrant sentiment. If someone wants to come into the country to make a living and does it LEGALLY, then welcome with open arms. Illegal immigrants ARE draining resources. Try to go over to Mexico illegally, then claim the government OWES you free health care and services, public aid, and while they are helping you DEMAND they speak English, since you don't understand Spanish. You know what would happen? After the gov't officials got up off of the floor from laughing, they would give you a one way ticket back to whereever you came from.

And why when we talk about Illegal immigrants does everyone who is pro-illegal say those against it are lazy and racist? Not the case. For your info, I did go to college, I do work, and I don't give a crap if you have green skin with yellow stripes. A good person is a good person, regardless of the color of their skin. I am sorry that I have a problem with my tax dollars not going where it's needed, but into the pocket of someone who came here illegally.

Stop being a worthless hippie and wake up. Every country in the history of the world has been formed by "immigrants", so that argument is worthless. Illegals are the issue, and maybe if we didn't live in a socialist welfare state, those jobs that no American wants to do, as you claim, would soon be filled by people who no longer get a free check thats funded by my tax dollars. Why pick lettuce when you can watch the game show network and collect a check from the government? Take that check away and watch those "jobs no American wants" get filled real quick. If the country of origin cannot sustain its people, why is it the job of America to take care of them? If you refused to scrub your toilet, would it be ok for you to break into your neighbors house to sh*t in their bathroom? American Culture is based on our founding documents, Declaration of Independence, Constitution, etc., which dictate we have the right to self determination and certain freedoms. This is unique in the history of the world. Strangely, those documents are also written in english, the language of our country. The longer you choose to define us as a "diverse" country, the more you help row that slow boat to hell and seal your own demise when all the things our forebears wrought are trampled by the feet of alien, scumbag invaders.

It is not an "anti-immigrant" sentiment!!!!! It is an anti-ILLEGAL alien sentiment and there should be!!!!!!!

What part of ILLEGAL don't you understand? ILLEGAL aliens are destroying our country and our economy. They destroy our schools and health care. Tax payers pay more to take care of them. They DEMAND services they don't have a right to.

Sure, we can accept each other and work to keep this country a beautiful place. HOWEVER, if you don't belong here, you shouldn't be here! This is not about race, it's about laws.

2007-03-07 02:18:29 · answer #8 · answered by ? 4 · 6 1

Several things:

1) The illegal aliens are ethnocentric. Meaning they're interested in advancing the cause of THEIR RACE -- not yours! This is evidenced by the PAC's, politicians and professors own words in US government and American universities. It is evidenced on their pro-illegal websites.

2) As these people continue to pour into the United States, they will within the next decade or two demographically dominate the US. What does this mean for YOU?

It means that while their homeland, Mexico is still intact -- and all theirs, they will have now ALSO acquired what was once the United States as their property. Mexico will influence public policy in the US. This means your Constitutional rights are gone.

This also means you will now be a refugee -- as you have lost your home land. Life for you will be all about trying to escape to the remaining ethnic enclaves. In those enclaves you'll probably be poor, scraping by just to feed yourself and your family.

3) Back to point #1, these people are ethnocentric, they are proud of their race, and proud of their heritage as they should be. But they don't play by your rules of "let's all get along because we're human beings, all part of one big family." This means you will NOT have a voice in government. You will have lost your ability to get a decent job or be able to surivive in business. Illegals will work with other businesses owned by their kind, they won't give yours the time of day. Plus they'll probably tax yours more.

4) These illegals make up over 100,000+ gang-bangers in California alone. They make up around 50,000 MS-13gangsters in the Illinois area if I remember correctly. And these people are highly armed. On top of that, where these illegals go, crime skyrockets -- check with candid law enforcement officers for these facts. Plus, where these people pour in, they start gangs. Do you like the idea of gangs in your neighborhood?

5) If you don't understand this problem -- you eventually will -- unless a miracle happens. Because this is like a lethal storm system that's rapidly moving across the United States. All the neighborhoods I grew up in and had friends in, are dangerous places now due the illegal alien invasion. Last time I went to our mall, I was stunned to see it packed with gang-banger types. Most of whom were trying to act tough, trying to intimidate the families there. It was a terrible experience. But don't worry, you'll soon taste what it's like.

6) You're probably a victim of propaganda if you're wondering why in the world would people be against immigrants. That's because you've seen the tear-jerker news stories, the warm fuzzy news stories and shows on illegals and immigrants. Plus you've heard politicians and CEO's parrot the line that these people are here to do the work Americans won't do. That is what propaganda looks like. It's emotional. It feels good. It sounds right. Fact is, Americans were doing those jobs before illegals came. The CEO's are addicted to cheap labor and want to create new pools of consumers. The Feds are owned by big business.

7) In the old days, people had to go through certain checkpoints to be allowed entry into the US. Only certain amounts of people from certain countries AT A TIME were allowed in. People had to be healthy and strong -- no diseases. Plus when these people came in, they wanted to be Americans, not Europeans anymore.

Now -- today, people just tear through the southern border. No one's checking them out, doing background checks, disease checks, etc. The vast majority of illegals pouring into the US could care less about the US as a nation. It's all about money for them.

Instead, of abandoning their communities in Mexico, these people should stay home and make their communities better places to live. By abandoning Mexico just so they can buy a big screen TV, they're perpetuating the problems in their homeland.

This question gets asked so many times a week you'd think people would get the answer by now. There isn't an anti-immigrant sentiment, most of us are descendants of immigrants. The problem comes from ILLEGAL immigrants. The key word there is ILLEGAL!!!!!!!!!! Read it, learn it, use it!!!!

The "Check Spelling" button is there for a good reason.

And another thing; the negative sentiment you're talking about is towards ILLEGAL immigrants. Why is it so hard to make that distinction?
