No, I don't agree. Yes, their kids deserve a lot (or not) because they have mortgages, expenses of raising the children and college or a helping hand with weddings, etc. But I also feel the grandkids should get some also for a helping hand in life. When my mom died at 82 she left the house for the 5 grandkids to sell and divide. She also stipulated that they use the money for
continuing their education or purchasing a house. She also put an age limit of 25 before they could have it. Four of the five purchased homes and the fifth left it invested. She would be proud. My sister and I received the stocks, cash, etc.

There is no obligation to leave your wealth to any person or entity ... it is the CHOICE of the PERSON who EARNED that wealth in their lifetime to DESIGNATE WHOM they wish to INHERIT the property that they worked so hard for.
There ARE circumstances where you would NOT want to leave any property to their children: It includes instances of where the children ABUSED (in some form) their Parent(s), where the children have already shown irresponsibility, and where there is an issue of the possibility of an EX-Spouse controlling or getting their claws once again into the property of someone who PAID their way out of a horrific sham of a 'relationship' years and years ago ....

People should leave their inheritance to whomever they want to. It's THEIR money, therefore, they get to determine who inherits it.
But, most people do leave to their children, and when they don’t, there is generally a reason why.

I think parents should leave their inheritances to their own children if they are worthy of it.If the parents are wealthy enough it is a good idea to share with their grandkids through a trustfund.

I personally think the parents should spend the inheritance. They earned it, they should enjoy it. Let the kids do the same.

Generally, I think people should do with their wealth what they want to. They aren't obligated to leave it to their children, if their children are ungrateful little greed-mongers with dollar signs for pupils; likewise for any other family members.

People should leave an inheritance to whomever they want and their children should not demand and insist on one.
