I am editing a paper for someone but then I fixed some of the lines that he centered, now now paragraphs start a little more to the right then others. I set them all on left align but they aren't all together. How can I set it so each line starts in the same place.

It sounds like the paragraphs that are not lined up correctly, may have an indent or margin change applied to them.

The easiest way to change paragraphs is to select a paragraph that is the exact way you want it to look -- alignment, indent, etc., Click on the the little PAINTBRUSH icon (located beside copy and paste icons on standard tool bar). Then, click in the LEFT MARGIN (not on any text), or on a space in the paragraph that you want to CHANGE. It should now look -- alignment, etc., like the paragraph you wanted.

The format Paintbrush is a handy tool. You can select text that you want to other text to look like, paragraph formatting, etc., and copy the FORMAT to a new section. If you double click the icon, you can use it repeatedly until you click it again to turn it off.

The Format Paintbrush is context sensitive. In other words, if you have text selected, it will copy the text formatting. If you have selected a space, or the paragraph (click in the left margin of the document, not in the text portion), and it will select document formatting, which includes margins, indents, line spacing, etc.

Highlight the offset section.

Click the indent markers on the ruler and drag them to the edge of the ruler.

That's all...
