I have swallowed gum for years and I asked a doctor about this and he said, its a old wife's tale that it hurts anything. It passes through your body quite easily.
Now for anyone that says, "oh ick" you swallow gum, "gross."
What makes gum any different from chewing food and swallowing? Nothing. Whats really gross is people spitting it out on sidewalks and you step in it or sticking it underneath public tables. Now that's gross!

It's not bad to swallow gum. You just have to watch out for choking, just like you would in swallowing anything. Gum digests just the same as any food you swallow and in the same amount of time

I've swallowed plenty of gum during my lifetime and never had a bad experience. I think it's an old wives tale.

Because it could cause you to blow a fart bubble, which is comprised of methane gas, and if a spark was near it then te resulting explosion would not only bring disaser to a 2 meter diameter, but it would blow your butt off

It can mess up your appendix pretty bad. Your body can't digest it.
