yes I base my stand against abortion from experince as i was aborted. seriously it makes no logical or moral sense. At what point does the person inside a womb become a person? If it isn't a person than what is it? I believe the burdon of proof that it isn't a person rests on the person who says it isn't. At what point does it become a person? And what if others disagree with your opinion. A good analgy is if someone comes to bulldoze a building and someoene says wait I think there is a person inside, would you err in favour of saving or taking a life? And why is it ok to kill when they are small? Because they cannot speak for themself? Because they feel no pain? Because they are unaware that they are being killed? If thats the logic then its ok to gass someoen n thier sleep as they are unaware and fell no pain.

I know several people personally who have had abortions. I am not very vocal one way or another, but one thing I saw was that it tore the woman apart. One has nightmares about being in the clinic and hearing the machines. They said if they could do it all over again they would choose to carry the baby, even if they were going to give it up for adoption after. The emotional pain they are going through because of it is unbelievable. They definetly didnt prepare these womens for the aftermath...
There is a quote that says one out of two people walking into an abortion clinic is killed... I disagree with this... Two out of two women walking into an abortion clinic are killed.
I dont stand in front of clinics or do any of this, because this doesnt help to do anything for the women but condemn them and judge them. But as a friend I am here for them. that is all we can really do to help.
I dont take that stance in any way because of religious beliefs or something or this sort

I just find that it's evil by my own standards. My faith shares this view aswell. I find abortion as an excuse to get out of responsibility or as a form of cowardice. It's a terrible thing that should never have been introduced to our society in the first place (I just said that same line 10 minutes ago:) ). I'm all for women's rights and everything, but abortion should not be considered so. Abortions go against the baby's right to live. It's not the baby's fault if the mother made the mistake of having sex in the first place. I just think abortion is sick and it's one of those topics I happen to feel very strongly about.

I base my stance on the simple biological fact that every abortion kills a living human being. Killing innocent human beings is wrong, whether in the womb, or in Iraq, or anywhere else. It's not that complicated. By the time most women know they are pregnant (just 3 weeks after conception), their baby's heart is already beating. Virtually no abortions are committed before 6 weeks, at which point the baby has tiny fingers and recordable brain waves.

Personally, I have seen abortion ruin several of my Friends and sister's lives. They go into their decision assured that they are doing the right thing and then are haunted by the decision for years and decades after wards. I have one friend that feels so guilty with her decision that she refuses to now have a child-she feels as though she must 'punish' herself. She doesn't feel as though she even has the right to accept God's forgiveness. My other two friends and my sister have also had equally tragic responses. So I guess that not only do I see it as the taking of an innocent life but really the taking of two lives. The mother's and the babies. Because of this and my Christian beliefs I do not agree with it but I would NEVER judge someone for making this decision. I would just offer my belief and maybe offer some other options. I would hate to see any more innocent girls go through the torment that my friends have went through for the past decade or so.

I am a right to choose person that doesn't mean I am for or against abortion but that I am believe it is there G-d given right to choose.
I do however find it interesting that the morning after pill is named RU486
Why???
I know this is a loose translation but it was the first thing that came to mind when I heard the name of the pill on the national news.
One of the slang terms for murder was to 86 them..ie gangster slang for a murder contract.
So in my mind the name of the pill is r u 4 murder?
Could it be that even the pharmaceutical companies call it murder as well?

I'm an atheist and I have not been told abortion was wrong by anyone. I think it should not occur because I believe life begins in the womb and I'm against the unnecessary taking of life.
I have known people who wanted to get abortions but not getting one was the best thing that ever happened to them. (Of course, I cannot assume this would be true for everyone.)

I take a stance against abortion because it is murder. Why would anyone want to kill a baby? It is a very selfish act. And, I don't have religion, I have a personal relationship with Jesus. You can too.
Read Romans in the Bible.

I counsel women who are considering abortion and/or had one- and the aftermath of abortion is horrible- first it takes the life of a precious baby that has been created by God- He knew that child long before it was conceived and had a plan and a purpose for him/her. Also the risks to the women are many. Women who have had abortions will never forget taking the life of their child. God gave life, and He is the only one that has the right to take a life- so the Word of God says it is wrong, it is wrong!!

There's a whole lot of people answering this question whose mothers seemed to make the right decision!
We are wonderfully made. God knew us while we were being created in our mothers. Read Psalm 139:13-19 below. You'll understand it then.
13 For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother's womb.
14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works;
my soul knows it very well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was being made in secret,
intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance;
in your book were written, every one of them,
the days that were formed for me,
when as yet there was none of them.
Psalm 139:13-19
