There are sometimes clinics in some areas that offer low cost vaccinations just to encourage people to have it done. Check your newspaper. the SPCA, and even city hall to see if they are offering anything in your area.

Vaccinations aren't that costly anyhow tho, and very wise to have them done... You might want to just go ahead and have it done.. The cost of vaccinating now, is far cheaper than treating one of the diseases should your dog pick one up.

Look in your yellow pages for an animal pharmacy in your area. They can provide you with vaccinations and needles if necessary.

I recently did my own first shots for my new puppy. The pharmacist explained exactly how to prepare the needle and give the shot. The cost of both vaccinations and the needles was just $11. To take our puppy to the vet for his shots would have been $40 each time.

I don't know where you live, but if you live in a rural area, you probably have a store near you that sells products for farms and livestock. Here we have a chain of stores called Southern States that sells vaccines. Or you could check at a feed mill. Also, you could talk with someone that trades and raises dogs. If they do it for a living, they probably know where to get the good prices.

Humane societies and shelters often provide low cost vaccinations. Vets often have reduced cost shot clinic days too. Call a few vets in your area and ask.

I know that you can do it yourself. Just go your local feed store, get the vax, and give it to your dog. If you do not know how, than follow this-

* Get surange (sp?) filled up with the right amount.
*Lift up SKIN on the back of his/her neck, and give it to it. But DO NOT get the MUSCLE.

Then just massage its neck. You can talk to your vet also.
