Take a few deep breaths slowly.. As you breath in and out, say the words 'Relax' to yourself.. Tell yourself everything is fine..

Look to a distance away.. If you have a window, look out of the window into the distance and focus your thoughts on the scenery. This is to relax your mind and body and for you to feel calm.. Stop thinking of whatever it is that makes you panic..

Another way is to have a quick cold shower if possible, then your panic thoughts will go away, because of the cold...

Remember your panic thoughts are always imagined, they are never real.

I have panic attacks before, so I learned to use this strategies and it helps..

Does sound like a panic attack but with good reason. I'm sorry you did not have anyone to protect you when you were 10 and held down by your brother until you turned blue....a very dangerous situation in itself, since you were being deprived of oxygen to your brain. This type of behaviour should have been punished and stopped immediately. You may need professional help at this point to deal with the anxiety someone touching your neck causes you. Sorry to hear about this. May God Bless you.

In my opinion, the first thing to do is get professional help and find out what things are causing your anxiety. I used to have panic attacks and tried different medications. Find a good counselor, someone you feel comfortable with, but someone who will also help you in weeks, not months or years. Medication does help, but you may need to try different ones. They have new ones coming out all the time now. Take care of yourself.

meds to help, but you need to find the right one for you. this will take time. there are many meds to try and different dosages, too.
talk therapy along with medical is the best way to overcome and/or deal with this.

best of luck to you.

See a councilor and make sure you tell someone you trust that it happens to you so that they can work it through with you. You won't feel so isolated.
