Thers no law against eating them if you are a vegetarian people just choose not to for what ever reason.
I think it all depends on the person, Vegetariens dont eat meat, so unless they are made out of real animal flesh and not artificial flavours i guess some may.
If they dont eat them because they are made out of anything that comes from an animal such as animal fat they are vegans, Vegans consume nothing that is produced from an animal
