Im a female. I know the police officer did not have a good reason to give me the citation. I know I can fight the ticket but if I can get the ticket dismessed, even better. :)

I was making a turn to the right on red. There is no sign or anything saying that I couldn't do that. But then cars started to come and I couldn't turn. The officer gave me the citation for blocking the crosslines and being a "hazard" for the peds.

Your basic information on height, weight, etc. is mainly used for if a warrant ends up being taken out on you at a later date (i.e. bench warrant). This helps when serving the warrant. It also helps you so that no one else can claim to be you. If a 5'7 female with blond hair came into court and said they were you, and you are a 5'3 female with brown hair, then something is just not right with that picture. We are all human and tend to make mistakes from time to time. Writing down the wrong sex will not invalidate a ticket.

I've seen some driver's licenses have the wrong sex on them. It didn't mean that they still weren't valid.

Technically you are in the wrong because you do not have right of way turning on a red light and you were across the line so you were blocking peds. If you try to fight it, you will likely lose. But small errors like the wrong gender on a ticket will not get it dismissed. Things like wrong court dates, wrong fines, etc. are what *COULD* get it dismissed because they actually affect the situation.

I doubt if you can get it dismissed just because he checked the wrong box for sex. However, show up in court and they will probably throw out the citation if the officer who gave it to you does not show up. I hear they are often too busy or don't care to bother with traffic court for minor infractions.

What happened, did the stashe confuse him?? Probably not unless you had an attorney who was a key leader in the local "justice club" Judges and Cops look out for one another...only a lead Kangaroo would have sway and cost more than the fine....give it a hop anyway!!!

There was one point in time that an error like that could dismiss a ticket, but not anymore... I hope you have other reasons you could get around this one!!! Good luck!

Question, did you do the crime? Yes? Then quit trying to get out of it because of a stupid loophole. Think of all the times you DID NOT get caught.

No, that is an administrative error which is easily corrected.

No, it was a minor and inconsequential thing.
