Covering scars has been a reason to have a tattoo for many. It is generally very successful in covering it or at least creating a diversion. Your tattoo artist will know the best approach, depending on the particular scar.

Also, just the action of the needles on the scar will often create an improvement in the texture of the scar, too.

depends how big the scar, and the colour of the scar as every scar is different! you will have to choose a good enough tattoo to cover the entire scarred area - would definately not recommend get a tattoo over a fresh or recent scar as tattoos need to scab to heal properly. and colour of the tattoo you want, ie black will cover it better than geting something with lines or colour etc. you will still be able to see the scar up close as scars often are raised above the skin but see how you go, check out a few tattooist and see what they recommend. also remember depending on where you want the tattoo depends on how much it will hurt etc - near bone hurts most.. good luck!

Sure but it doesn't always work. It would depend on the scar and the skin coloration not to mention the tattoo that you choose. Sometimes the color doesn't take as well in those areas or the scar will show through.
I would suggest asking your tattoo artist for his/her opinion!

Yes you can. Part of mine is covers small parts of scars from old stretch marks...those areas were the most painful part of the tattoo though.

Yes you can. I had really deep strech marks on my belly from being pregnant so after having my 4th child i had my tubes tied. When everything went back to where it belonged i was left with the deep strech marks. Went to the tattoo parlor and had a hawaiian sunset tattooed on my tummy. it looks amazing and you cant tell there are the marks there
