OKay, I have this guy friend. STRICTLY friends. Well last weekend, we got drunk and had what he called "casual sex". Today I had to see him at school for the first time since it happened. And I couldn't even look at him. For him it was like it didn't even phase him. How can guys not give this any thought? How come it was so awquard for me?

It's awkward because there's a lot of pressure put on girls to be 'in love' or wait for marriage before having sex. Women are considered to be 'romantic' and more socially developed, and so media (especially for teenagers) focuses on such things as "How to Flirt to Make Him Notice You!", and "Things Not To Do In Relationships!". The pressure is there to have a boyfriend, be in love, etc., etc., otherwise sex has no meaning.

Men, on the other hand, are stereotyped as being purely physical creatures. Media tends to project a 'boys will be boys' mentality regarding men and sex; men supposedly tend to focus more on the physical aspects of sex, since they aren't as socially developed. Thus, your friend's attitude towards 'casual sex'.

Bottom line is, sex is a biological urge to propogate the species. Sex and love are not mutually inclusive. Your own reaction to the 'casual sex' means that you need to be more than friends before you sleep with someone. Look at this as a lesson learned and next time you go out drinking, make sure you've got a DD you trust to keep your baser urges in line. ^_^

To some guys, sex is just entertainment. To others, it is much more. It sounds like you need to find out. Have a talk with this guy and find out. He might be putting up a front. Your feeling is a good reason to observe abstinence.
