concerned for sister whose 16 but her bf of a year just turned 18?

is their relationship now illegal in california since she is dating an 18 year old. when they started dating he was 17 and she was 15. he's a christian and a great guy but im worried for him about the age thing now that hes turned 18.

To my knowledge, there's no law saying you can't date someone that's under 18 if you're 18, that would be utterly absurd. If it wasn't a problem the day before he turned 18, why think of it differently now?

When I was 18, there was a 16 year old girl that I almost started dating, but that didn't work out. Doesn't really seem that strange to me.
