NO, since you have to be in the car your insurance is valid, all Insurance companies allow permit drivers to learn and not be insured. If in doubt call your agent.

Yes it is ileagle to have any driver that is not insured....
Hummm could this be a way that the insurance companys are ripping us off... By passing laws so that they make more money.

I would add him or her quickly, anything could happen, but they do need a driver's permit to be added I believe. Ask your insurance agent.

You can't insure an unlicensed driver. While the child is under your supervision he/she is covered by your policy.
