I have windows xp. I have used the microsoft disk cleanup with no problem in the past.I have not made any changes on my computer but the disk cleanup will not come on. I have tried to run it the 3 ways that microsoft suggested.. and it will not work. Any idea what I can do to get the disk clean up to boot and run?

Off the top I can't think why it will not work.

Have you tried running it in Safe Mode? I run Error Check, Disk Cleanup, Scandisk and defrag out of Safe Mode.

Turn your PC on or Restart. As soon as you see the black and white screen, press and hold the F8 key. Continue holding until you see a black and white menu. Safe Mode is F3 or F5. From Start, Programs, run your AV program or whatever.

When it is finished, Restart. You will probably find your icons messed up. No biggee. Drag them back into place.
