I know I complain a lot. Sorry about that. But my teacher found out I cut myself so he told the consuler who told my mom and dad. Now my parents think I want attention from them which I don't. I told the consuler that my mom is too busy with art and my dad doesn't get home until 9 most nights so she thinks I don't get enough attention at home. Now my mom is taking me to the movies tomorrow and my dad is coming into my room saying "I never get to spend time with you. I'm not home long enough."

How could I fix everything?
How can I make it so my parents will leave me alone and not feel bad for ignoring me?

As you've said ... you need help. Perhaps you do and you dont even realize it. Go with the flow, let them dote on you and just enjoy it. It will be good for all of you to spend more time together. Thats not a bad thing; think of it as a great idea!

1. Maybe subconsciously, you do want attention. Do you honestly know exactly why you cut yourself?
2. I don't think you can fix it yourself b/c those who are involved have to help with the fixing.
3. I'm a 32 yr old parent with a 12.5 yr old son. I'd feel bad if my son cuts himself. It's automatic for a parent, regardless whose fault it is. It makes the situation worse when the parents don't know why.
4. Maybe you can try to explain them why you cut yourself. Once they figure out you're just one bored kid with nothing better to do, they'll leave you alone.

By the way, if you're gonna cut yourself and bleed. Why not just go donate some blood and save a life of another? Find a tech that is really lousy with the needle and stay with him and her every time you come in to donate blood. That way you'll feel pain every time but the result will contribute in saving a life.

To start w/ quite pushing your parents away!! You obviously do need them or you wouldn't be cutting yourself!!! That is not normal!!! Why did you cut yourself!! I think your parents should also get you some counseling. Give you someone to talk to. You can't just snap your fingers and fix everything. It will take time. How old are you?? Why don't you like being around your parents? Take some time and think about everything that has happened?? Do you really miss your parents and put up this front of get them away from me so you won't hurt??? Maybe you should just enjoy spending time w/ them. Talk to them!! They are your parents they love you!! Let them help!! Please don't cut yourself anymore. You could really do some damage!!! Take Care!! Hope it all works out for ya.

First of all, you need to figure out why you cut yourself. I think your counselor jumped to the first conclusion you gave him/her--because you don't want to know why you cut yourself, so you gave a pat response and it's backfiring on you.

Secondly, you AND your parents need to go to counseling together. Yes, you are being neglected (whether you want to admit it or not) but that might not be the underlying reason for your self-abuse. However, your parents are making a sincere effort to be a part of your life and that can only be a good thing.

Yes, they feel bad for 'neglecting' you. But they also want to make sure you aren't cutting yourself. Whether you realize it or not, you want them to go away because cutting yourself is easier than dealing with what's really bothering you.

Think about it. It seems that you do feel left out, but you are unsure of how to relate to your Mom and Dad. Go to the movies with your Mom you do need her to help you feel better about yourself. I sure hope you have a couple of friends. If you don't find some by being involved in a school club. I hope you have more fun in your life. Best wishes for that for you.

Decide why it is that you ARE cutting yourself. And do something about it. It's not okay to do it. It can lead to serious scars, embarassing to have to explain later in life and can definitely lead to more destructive behavior. And don't shun your parents for wanting to pay more attention to you. Someday, they won't be around and when you grow up, you'll realize that you need them. Get yourself some help.

It's definitely going to take some time for them to leave you alone. Your best bet is to talk to them, tell them how you felt and how you feel now. Tell them exactly what is on your mind, any maybe you should spend some more time with them. Let them pamper you a little bit, but at the same time be honest and open about your feelings.

Well, focus your energy on things that will make you a better person like engaging in sports, academic and social activities. You should have a goal for this. You may not reach this goal but the bottom line is it is worth doing and it makes you happy.

This isn't as easy as making them return to ignoring you.

You and your family need some counseling to get through this. Cutting is a very outward sign of some inward turmoil and you are clearly suffering from depression.
