IT's often the "How am I doing" that moves people. The candidates involvement in the community meas a lot to me and at higher offices I want someone who can improve the country.

Bottomline is interest and whether or not the local constituents have become aware of the candidate... I'm saying the politician has to somehow manage to get his or her name known to his or her constituents...

weather,who is kin to who and are they running for something,when do the polls close,is supper ready yet,are the kids home from school,does Buffy have soccer practice,does Jeff have baseball practice,..the list is endless....

i live in Australia, and voting is compulsory, so the risk of prosecution is the biggest influencing factor!
