I'm only 16 and i can understand where you are coming from because chances are you work at a job you hate, to put food on the table for unappreciative kids, to pay for their cell bills, the roof over their heads, the cars they drive in but we still want more or feel that everything is "unfair."
But you see you have understand that we do go through trials and tribulations of our own and our struggles are constantly belitted by our parent who in fact have it harder but doesnt fully understand why we struggle and why we cry in the shower or cut ourselves or do drugs because we dont know how to deal with our problems, and parents try to tell us what to do we do feel upset because we feel that we should be trusted to make certain decisions on our own because we have to one day. We do try to be good but day in and day out peer pressure gets to us all and we do blow off steam at the ones we love most. Good luck with your son or daughter. :)

Because their brains have just entered adulthood but they have no real experiences. They only see the possibilities available and can't understand the "societal" constraints- so they rebel against it. As of this point in their lives, they really haven't had to deal with the repercussions of their decisions without a safety-net. Think about what it would be like if we didn't have to worry about taking responsibility for our decisions. We'd act like them too! But, like it or not, they have some tough lessons on the horizon... watch them squirm when there is no more NET!

1. teens are stuck between childhood and adulthood and cannot handle the change in themselves very well, and when someone is miserable, they tend to lash out to make everyone around them miserable also.
2. teens are subconsciously testing their limits. They know they hit the limits when the parent reacts, and yet they will still continue testing the limits until they are sure where the limits are and the parent is consistant with them. (see explanation 1)
3. teens are often self centered and selfish, they want what they want when they want it and will throw a temper tantrum if they don't get it. This is basicly wanting the priveleges of an adult with the behaviour of a child (see explanation 1)
4. teens get a kick out of making others around them miserable. They are enjoying their new-found sense of power, but cannot yet use it wisely (see explanation 1)
Those are my opinions only--it has been so long since I was a teen, I forget what it was I really did or why I did it LOL

I don't know, go back in time you old geizer and ask your own rebillious teenage self the SAME THING maybe you'll learn something, don't be such a hypocrite, you know you did it too! Open your mind AND SHUT YOUR MOUTH maybe we "rebel" because that's the only time we are smart enough to do that, then it all goes down here"oh my goodness! my rebillious side is showing again! My lanta! Sorry about that!"-*bears is all and paints on a smile*

Because to them, the only way to be cool is to be nonconformist. To go against traditional ideas, and to therefore rebel against parents. It's a desperate attempt to get attention and to feel accepted. It's the same reason emo kids do what they do. There's no real reason, they just have to because they were told to.

because we can. That is the one thing we can do. You may think it is against you ,but it really isn't , it is more that .. they don't want you to worry, or cry about them.... or be concerned.. they "run there own lives" , but we know that the parents are there.. and trust me.. if they arn't spoiled brats, teenagers even though you don't see it.. are listening to everyhting you say adn taking it in. Also..we are gratful to all the things our parents do for.. us.. at least.. all the ones i know and me. We just want ot show that we can be independant

Its all part of growing up...Teens learn what it is to be responsible and parents learn how to let go and allow them to become responsible for their own actions. Its all very natural and unfortunately usually emotionally draining...I had two rebellious teenagers.
