A little nibble isn't going to hurt them. Just remember that everything they eat needs to be in moderation. You need to try to stay away from foods that are high in sugar or salt. But, an occasional little nibble of this cereal isn't going to hurt them. A good rule of thumb is if it isn't good for you, then it isn't good for them.
Here is an ACCURATE list of what your cockatiel can NOT have:
avocodo
chocolate
caffeine
peach pits
apple seeds---just try to stay away from all fruit pits just to be safe
peanuts especially in the shell--this is because they grow a mold that carries bacteria
some say iceberg lettuce--the fact is though that it is not toxic to them. it just doesn't carry any nutrients that are useful and it can make their droppings runny
My cockatiel perches and eats from my plate. whatever I'm eating. I eat healthy for this reason and many others of course :)
just remember wholesome foods are best and pelleted diet (which is debated) fresh fruits and veges every day. Sharing your cereal won't hurt him at all. Now, don't go and fill his feed bowl up with it or anything lol. But, a flake here and there will be fine :)

Okay...take a deep breath.
It's safe to feed you tiel honey nut Cheerios ^.^ .
To be a little more thoroughl, lets just say that the majority of cereals are okay with the exception of chocolate covered ones or those high in sugar. Very sugary ones can be fed as a special day treat (My guys go bonkers for fruit loops!), but not much more than once a week. I throw honey nut O's in the 'okay in moderation' group as it is okay, though the sugar should be watched. My guys adore Cheerios and fruit loops strung on a shoelace. It rarely lasts longer than the night and most of the time they have a blast ripping the things off the shoe lace. Destructible goodies are so much fun!
Foods to avoid include booze, tobacco, avocado and rhubarb (especially the leaves).

Honey nut has too much sugar, but plain cheerios are perfectly fine! Mine love it!!
A few nibbles of corn flakes should be fine, just avoid the milk since they don't have the enzymes to digest it.

My tiels LOVE cereals and yes, they are fine as a treat, not as a food source. Cockatiels should be fed a food called Zupreem, and not fed seeds. Seed does not give them enough nourishment. If you have any questions feel free to email me. :)
Good luck...

Of course but not too much of it.
Scampy a lutino cockatiel would not let me eat cereal in peace until I gave me two or three peices.

Yes, you can.
The only things your bird CANNOT have are:
Marijuana smoke
Avocado
Tomato
Pineapple
These are all fatal. My cockatiels, when they were alive (they lived to 23, by the way) used to love hard boiled eggs, celery leaves and millet seed. One of them really liked crab, too, but he didn't get it very often.

NO... Whatever gave you that idea ?? Certain cereals could cause problems in their digestive tract and that could be the end of your Cockateil. Stick to Cockateil Food in a box...
