I'm sorry to tell you, He still speaks with those able and willing listen. Those folks don't care to share it, cuz ya'll think they are crazy :P. Or worse, someone tries to silence them permanently.

I heard about a story where a priest was in his house and there was a blizzard outside...he heard a call from god to go to the coffee shop, and after much arguing he did. When he went there, not much happened, and then a trucker walked in the coffee shop and looked at the priest and said "wow". When asked why he did this the man replied," Well I said to myself if I found a priest in this coffee house, I would change my ways and become a better person...Hows that for talking to people?

I think in the old times, they did not have technology to record such speeches. Imagine if one could produce a taped recording of god speaking to you. That would be considered evidence.
You can figure out for yourself why this alleged god does not speak in public anymore.

Because God was still setting the stage for His son Jesus to arrive. Once all had been readied and Jesus showed up, God wouldn't have to come back till the end times.

Actually, he didn't.
When Elijah was on Mt. Sinai, God was not in the fire, the earthquake or the wind. He was in the "still small voice".
Isaiah described God saying, "you shall hear a voice behind you telling you to turn to the right or to the left..."
Moses said, "You don't have to send someone into the heavens to bring God down, nor do you need to send someone over the waters to bring God here...no, God is as near as your lips..."

He didn't. God never physically talked to people. There is not a single instant where God talked to anyone in the biblical times or any other time.

I heard God physically speak to me once. He told me to get out of the car I was in. I turned around looking for who spoke to me. Then He said it again. I turned again and no one was there so I got out of the car. I went into a house with my sister and cousin. I found out later some kids had been driving by and if they had seen me, it would have scared them and I would have been shot for startling them.
Is that fun enough for you?
