We need much more info to help you out with this one. Try visiting webmd.com and using their symptom checker. It is a rotating diagram of a person, and you tell it whether you are a male or female, and then you click on the body part (in your case skin) in which you have symptoms. Then it will ask you specific questions about what you are experiencing, and based on that it will generate a list of possible conditions that you can read about on their site.

From what you are saying it sounds like an allergy, but I'm no doctor.

I don`t know where these blotches are,, but if they are round , it could be ringworm, this is a virus,,, if you have it on different parts of your body, and have just noticed it here lately in winter, then it could be dry skin,,, also you could have some psorasis, or ezema, check out web md, of skin conditions....

It could be an allergic reaction. Have you been taking a new medication, using a new soap, or did you eat something different lately?
