I know it is not okay to make an image of The Prophet, and it made me wonder if there is anything in Islam that prohibits or discourages the displaying of an opened Qu'ran, on a bookshelf. Please only sincere answers. I would really like to know, and thank you in advance.

Yes it is proper in Islam if we display a copy of the Qur'an as long as it is genuine not containing false verses and we display in a clean and right place because it is a holy book as our life guidance. We should read it carefully and understand its meanings not only displaying it and we should practice its contents in our everyday of life.By these good doings we will ob tain its benefits for the safety of our lives here in this world and in the life after death..

I'm pretty sure that is Okay. My family has pictures of my older sister reading it when she was a kid. And they would not take a picture of it if it was wrong, Also there are pictures all of the internet of the Qu'ran and its fine.

We Muslims just don't like anyone disrespecting our prophets in any way.

They do it all the time.

Just go to the toilet cubicle, and look for the white scroll beside the wall.
