Much prayer and leaning on fellow christians for support

That is a really good question!

I find it hard to do two things: One - enjoy time with other Christians - because they can't laugh at anything or have fun! Also two - when hanging out with non-Christian friends, I find I'm doing things I am not "supposed" to do like cuss, or drink, or express anger or gossip.

I get this image of Christians always needing to be happy, with a smile on their face, and refraining from "bad" things like certain movies or booze or laughing about a crude joke (even though it's ridiculously funny!) On one hand I want to be that good example, but on the other hand alienating my peers is just as bad. I do suppose there is a balance.

I just try to keep it real. There are things you can do to releive stress that are not as bad for you as other things.

For the really important stuff, I have my values and I stick to them. For example, my husband and I refuse to own a TV because of the negativity and values it brings into our home. I am also generally seen as "unique" because I don't get drunk on the weekends or spend a lot of time dissing on others. I love my husband and I take good care of him in a traditional sort of way. We have an awesome family. But we don't always go to church every weekend and we aren't involved that much. But people do know we're Christians and I hope they see the difference in that we try to be very financially responsible and put a big priority on helping them when they are in need.

That takes up a pretty huge chunk of time just right there.

Sorry, I'm not a Christian, but I find that accepting each and every moment, good or bad, as a gift helps me appreciate even those stressful times, and they are no longer so stressful.

In addition, setting aside some time, going back over things, accepting them, and letting them go will work wonders.

We should not be stressed that we have so much to deal with. We should be thankful we do not have more.

It's Satan trying to tempt you to become worldly. No one ever said it would be "easy" to be a Christian. Lean on the Lord and pray fervently. Approaching the Lord in prayer should keep us humbled and in awe. Remember, take up your cross daily (die to self).

Mat 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

I remind myself that the main thing that God wants me to do as a Christian is spread his word. All the stress that goes on as a result of money, business, and other things is not what God wants your mind on. Then I also pray and read my bible. Also it is very important God says not to worry about all these things let him take care of it. Remind myself that as long as I am truly trying at these other things and living my life according to his word that he will take care of them. He would rather my mind be on spreading his word than so stressed out by these other things.

God, your Heavenly Father, has prepared a marvelous plan for your happiness. When you realize that God has a plan for you, it is easier to understand why you are on this earth. God wants all of His children to progress and become more like Him. This time on Earth provides opportunities for you to grow and progress. Coming here allows you to:

* Receive a physical body.
* Exercise agency and learn to choose between good and evil.
* Learn and gain experience that will help you become more like your Heavenly Father.

By following our Heavenly Father’s plan, you—like all of His children—can someday return to live with Him and with your loved ones. You can have greater peace in this life and eternal joy in the life to come.

Reach for God instead of a drink, a smoke or a magic pill. Lol, sounds easy, but take it a little further. Reach for God before speaking out, acting out, etc.

PS: hope the naked guy has a privacy fence!

One of the best stress reliever is to sing praises to God while I am doing the dishes or gardening. Even while I'm driving in my car in traffic. Singing to God usually invites His presence and wherever God is, there is no stress, just His perfect peace which surpasses all understanding.

By following Christ example...
Read about the Garden of Gethsemene. Then tell me how a Christian ought to deal with stress.

(we pray ofcourse)
and F.Y.I. Praying isn't just talking to God...it's also waiting on him....seeking his response.

alot of people cope with stress by popping pills or drinking, but i'd rather not depend on those things when times get tough, i'd rather pray about them, and try to star positive.
