Think how much we dont know or cant prove? How was the universe created? How was man created,? Is there life beyond our solar system, How old is the earth? Is there water on Mars? Is there a God or superior being?

I am sure the ant thinks of itself as a pretty smart insect, probably thinks its the smartest creature on earth. Is it possible an ant doesnt know we (humans) exist, sure they see our hand or foot but do the realize its part of a living thing? Why are we so arrogant as to think nothing can be more evolved and more intellegent than us. That there cant be a higher species. With so much we dont know, shouldn't we at the very least, consider the possibilities? Begining with the possibillity that maybe just maybe God exists? Can anyone prove he doesnt?

I have no problem with thinking that God might exist. In fact, I firmly believe He does. Otherwise, virtually everything we know of life doesn't really make sense.
On why people think they are smart, in defiance of evidence to the contrary. It is pride. Pride is the ultimate defensive mechanism. It is also a powerful blinder.
also, consider this: Can a person born with an IQ of 160, say, really take credit for that, but most of such persons most certainly will. So pride is a pretense, too, a conceit.
On the other hand, humility is wisdom, always.

Life is full of paradoxes and uncertainties, and this is coming from a sixteen year old girl... At the end of the day, how can you determine that we aren't the most highly developed being on this planet? The only way as a race that we have come to such a conclusion, is that we are more equipt to doing certain things that millions of other species are incapable of doing. And I am not disagreeing that humans may not know everything, but why bother pondering about such a thing?? I could wake up one morning and realise I've been living inside a dream all my life; but it doesn't solve anything.
God is a theory, and like all theories, they evolve or get replaced by a more satisfactory outcome. No one is trying to prove or dissprove the existance of a higher being, or omnipitant one. God being sentient (if at all), would need a creator, therefore the probabilities increase.
And it's a subjective and personal point of view to think that humans have pseudo intellect... That isn't a guarantee, and if you are open minded, can you guarantee what 'intellect' is for sure? Yes there is a boxed approach to most things so we can identify and understand the manner of it's being, but you could spend the rest of your life till you die being tied in knots trying to prove a point or work out the meaning of everything.
We are children of the universe, and like a child, you have asked the many questions which will only be replied by the silent echo of existance.

Generally speaking, the human race thinks there the smartest,

Indiviually, I think many of us understand the possiblities of greater intellegence.

One question I would have, is can you prove God does exist? Can you provide the same tangible evidence he exists as you would be able to when validating if or if not water exists on mars?

Once can no more prove that God does exist, than one can prove that he doesn't exist.

You are trying to use questions which can be answerd with tangible evidence, that someone exists but does not have any tangible evidence. In other words, faith based beliefs v's fact based beliefs.
This is a question the human race has been asking for millenia and still has not found the answer for. Do you actualy expect to find the answer on Yahoo????

I think we'll all have to die and find out before we know the truth on this one...

I'm sure ants don't think about anything. Their nervous systems are so simple that they aren't capable of real "thought". And if they are, they certainly can't reflect on their existence.

Sure there could be a higher species and there probably is somewhere in the universe. Ever met it? No. We're the smartest things that this planet has ever seen.

Finally, this has nothing to do with the existence of god. No, no one can prove that he doesn't exist because of the definition of god. Can you prove that there isn't an invisible pink potato floating behind your head?

Uh, I can prove he doesn't!
Big Bang
Evolution
Most likely (big universe, has to out there somewhere)
Scientists estimate at about 4 billion years
Yes, frozen at the poles
No, there is NO evidence that is scientific. Big bang started it all, evidence is that all galaxies are rushing away from each other. Therefore at one time they would have been very close together.
As for evolution, skeletons of horses have been found where the horse was three feet high, and had toes thousands of years ago. More skeletons are found, and when looked at, the horse loses a toe, and grows a little. Evidence on the modern horse of its past ancestors is the horse's chestnut, a bony growth on its leg, that very well could have been a toe. Skeletons of humans have been found with a similar pattern.
Here is my questions to you:
Since there is no evidence, why are spending hours on something that probably doesn't exist?
The big bang is impossible, you say, because well gee, gosh, where'd the speck of dust come from? Well let me ask you this. If everything must come from something, then where'd god come from?
Well, I've given you hard evidence.
Your turn.

First there is some water on Mars. Look it up.

There is no evidence that there is a god. No evidence essentially means that someone made it up. It isn't rational or reasonable to believe in things without any evidence to back it up. You would be stuck with thousands of gods and everything else that human imagination could come up with since they all have the same evidence.

Not believing in god is the same as not believing in Odin, Zeus, Ra, Hera, Bacchus, The Great Spirit, Osiris, The Flying Spaghetti Monster and all the others. I would be no less surprised of evidence of Odin was found than I would be if evidence of your god was.

It depends on which god you are referring too. I have kept an open mind to all possibilities but every ones idea of god is always a selfish one. "He agrees with me, he punishes you." Etc.....
I refuse to believe in a god that kills homosexuals, condones wars, and sends people to burn in hell for all eternity. That just doesn't seem like an all loving, forgiving god to me.

Obviously if god does exist there is no way we can ever know or reach it, so why bother trying? Its a huge waste of time worshiping a being that (according to your theory) See's us as ants. Wouldn't it be so much better if we concentrated on things that we know do exist, like peace and love and trying to better ourselves so we can treat each other better? Maybe if we do that, one day we will be able to reach god.

I don't know if some supernatural being exist because it could be beyond my comprehension. However, the personal God, the God of modern day religions is made fathomable. That is the problem. He is forced to face human logic because of the human characterizes he is given and fails because of it.

People attempt to explain God which is the mistake. Just wondering is the only smart thing we can do.

*sigh* Nobody with common sense thinks that we are necessarily the only intelligent thing in the universe. Since we haven't contacted anyone else yet though, what good does it do to worry about it?

God doesn't exist. If someone comes up with the idea of an invisible being that can never be apprehended by any human sense or apparatus, it is not incumbent upon humans to disprove it.

At least you are thinking in the right direction. Here is a quick verse from the Bible that fits in with what you are saying.

From the creation of the world, God's invisible qualities, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly observed in what he made. As a result, people have no excuse.
