I know about all the usual tricks....make it into a funny new word, associate it with a picture in your head, etc. Any other new novel ways to retain information?

If you write the item, speak the item, and read the item you have put it in your memory three different ways; in three different places, and it will be easier to recall.

I just memorize the words and then try to incorporate it into my head when I see it. If I can't remember the word, I jot it down to look up later. As I am a walker, this is very compatible with me. I have the time of day to see a car and recall the Japanese term is kuruma. I can count in Japanese each step I take. I can form basic sentences in my head about what I want to do, what I want to happen, or what I'm thinking about currently.
You don't need to "improve" your memory, you just need to improve your memorization tactics.

I had significant memory trouble thanks to 10 years of tokin da reefer. I found that taking fish oil (omega 3) helped. And Focus Factor, found at any pharmacy, will increase awareness and memory
