I'm not talking about the people that directly tell me I will burn in hell. But just the mere knowledge that all Christians believe any non-believer in God will burn in hell if they don't change before death makes me furious.

Some actually try and say that they can't judge me, but in their bible it directly states that all non-believers will not go to heaven.

Does it make you as angry as it does to me?

It doesn't make me angry - it deeply saddens me. My husband is Christian, and he carries this burden - believing that the woman he loves more then himself will suffer for all eternity. I wish I could take that pain from him - make him aware of the truth. Show him who God truly is. Allow him to understand and feel Divine love.

I feel great sorrow for those who believe this - and believe earnestly that all those they care about, along with millions of others (even those before Christ) are in hell. What a heavy burden!

I can understand why Christians are so zealous to advance their faith. Many are in earnestly scared that we non-believers will suffer this horrible fate. Doesn't make it any more true. But it is a very sorrowful idea - one I don't wish on anyone to bear.

I do not know where you will go, but the path you are on is not a safe one. We believe that your choice is what sends you there. Since God created all things and you reject him he created a place that is totally void of him. This place we call hell and it is not a nice place.

You are right. Even though we cannot judge you our Bible does say what will be your destination if you do not turn to God and believe.

Now, while I believe Jewish people are God's chosen people I also believe they are blind to Jesus as their Messiah. They along with the Muslims also believe that if you do not believe in God according to their texts you also will go to some form of eternal "damnation."

Even the Greco/Roman false beliefs tell of a "hell" called hades. So, I ask you why is it the Christians you single out your anger? I say it is because we have the truth. You might say that it is because we are the only ones that share this point while the others are not so "aggressive." Though I believe you will say it in a much more negative light.

No. I am a Christian.
Think of it this way. Based upon the Bible, God has commissioned all believers to bring the word of God to all peoples. That through the acceptance of Jesus as our savior we are saved from our sins.
Why does this anger you when you yourself do not believe in hell? Possibly, a part of you believes there is a hell and you just don't want to be reminded of it. If you do not believe in hell shrug it off and walk away. However, even if only a small part of you believed there was a hell, wouldn't you want to be warned?
Think of it this way also. You see a person standing in a building which is on fire, ignoring the flames dancing around them. Would you simply stand by and watch them perish or would you warn them. This is the way it is for Christians telling non believers of Jesus, his mercy and the alternative to hell.

I have noticed this a lot among atheists. I hear and read a lot of fear and hate from atheists. I am not sure why.

I believe a self actualized person of any faith or faithlessness would be able to accept that others have different beliefs and be okay with that. I know I am okay with other people having different faiths or faithlessness.

I have seen this same kind of fear and anger among people who claim to be religious from a variety of other religions. I call it the "If you don't believe the way I believe you are WRONG and I hate you!" syndrome.

In Zen we are taught to understand truth. (I am a Zen Christian and I go to a Methodist church)

For example Santa Clause is true. Santa Clause is a man who dresses up in a red suit and hands out presents at Christmas time. Millions of men dress up in red suits and hand out presents at Christmas time. Santa Clause is true, even if every little detail is not factual.

To be aware or enlightened you must learn to accept truth. Christianity is true, even if every detail is not a proven fact. Islam is true even if every detail is not a proven fact. I could go on. They exist. They are true. The existence is the truth.

Do you reject breathing because you do not like the taste of the air?

Even the things I do not like are true. Even the things I do not like about myself are true.

I can only change myself.

This is true. I can try to help others. Some I will help, others will reject the obvious. Some will chase me around yahoo answers and give my every answer a thumbs down.

Ah, and therein lies your problem. Don't generalize, my friend. I am a Christian, and I will be the first to tell you that I cannot judge you. In fact, I don't think that at all. I believe that only God knows a person's soul, and it is not my place.

Peace to you.

People oftentimes accuse christians of being judgemental, but I think that you put it perfectly clear, it's not that we have christians bounding us with their dogma, but it's that we realize and know that that is their religion. Never once in my life has a christian actually accused me of sin, or asked me to take Jesus into my heart, but I know that that is what a "true" Christian should do. But the same goes with any religion. Because I know what it's precepts are, I believe I know what kind of person they will be like. Even outside of religion, I know what a boss is supposed to act like, or a 50 year old is supposed to act like compared to a 20 year old, or a college girl compared to a highschool girl. It's not that the people are corrupt, it's that our assumptions are corrupt and we believe in the sterero types. I will never judge someone based on their stereo type but on the content of their character which I perceive and experience first hand. Amen.

If you "know" hell doesn't exist then show us some proof. Why would you expect(as an unbeliever) to go to God's heaven and have an eternal relationship with Him if you don't believe in Him or His promises? Hell does exist and it will be a place of eternal separation from the loving God of this universe. You need to open your heart to this truth and realize that its silly to be mad at people who are just trying to save you. You need a relationship with Jesus Christ or you will be lost forever( which is a really long time). I'll take my thumbs down now.

No. I don't get angry. I get sad. This is one of the "dark colors" that comes with my faith: some people will refuse to believe, and will refuse life.

Why does my faith's "dark night of the soul" make you angry? Christianity is not all chocolate-coated easter bunnies, you know. Christianity is a journey. All journeys don't have the same destination.

It doesn't matter whether or not you believe in either heaven or hell. No place, either spiritually or physically geographic, depends on your belief in it to exist. If I choose, or fail to accomplish, belief in the Grand Canyon, or Mt. St. Helens, will those places at once cease to exist for my sake? Obviously not.

That anger could become toxic. Get some help.

How do you know that Hell doesn't exist? We believe that non-believers will burn in hell if they don't repent because the Bible tells us so. We believe in the Bibe because it is the Word of God and the Word of God never lies. If you do not believe, then why should it make you angry, unless it hits a nerve. God Bless You!!!

Its not individuals that will judge you for none of us can pass sentence onto you. But it is God and his word that will judge you
and he will judge you on the fact of what you have done with your knowledge of Jesus Christ. If you dont obey the law of the land you may serve time in prison does this make you mad?God is a higher authority and higher being and his court is a eternal court whether you beleive or not does not change one thing. You do have a court date set you will appear before him that is a appointment you will not miss he will not have to serve a bench warrant to get you there. The only thing that will pardon your sins/crimes against God is the blood of Jesus Christ and your faith in him and your acceptance of his atonement
