There are many credit cards designed for people in your situation. If you have little or no credit, you can apply for an 'unsecured' credit card with no security deposit. Or, you can apply for a 'secured' credit card where your credit line is backed up by a deposit. A secured credit card is much easier to get, but it may not be as attractive since security deposits can be anywhere from $300 to several thousand dollars.

Keep in mind, credit cards are not free money. You have to repay them. I would get a low interest credit card. Shop around. Watch out for ones that charge you annually for having the credit card. You can really screw up your future by using any credit card without the ability to pay them back. Im shocked you were not already sent credit card offers in the mail. Only use the credit card when you have the money to pay it back. Its so easy for people in your age group to get a credit card use it to get whatever they want and before they know it they are up to debt to their eyeballs. Don't go that route.
