I think, you can correct the facts of the subject discussed but not the feelings or opinions that they have of the subject. If they are any good, they would appreciate you telling them the correct facts so that they wont go committing the same mistakes in front of someone else and risk looking stupid. But please be sensitive and light hearted abt correcting them; they may be sensitive about their lack of education and will clam up in future if insensitive pp keep correcting them rudely. Hey, even pp with little education have views that are worth listening to too!

Over time you will learn that:
1. People do not like to be corrected.
2. They do not find it helpful.
3. Others around you will think you are a jerk when you correct someone.
If it is something you feel you must correct, do it discretely in private.
Praise can be public, but criticism should always be kept private.

I correct my friends time to time. After a while of doing it though they will start to notice when they make a mistake and fix it on their own.

You should let your friend BE, whoever, they are. No one should be expected to LIVE UP to another`s standards.
We ARE all different. As it should be.
If you are truly a friend. You will accept them good and bad. I am sure they don`t like everything about YOU either.

you should correct him/her...but in a SUBTLE and POLITE manner. that goes to say that you should talk to him/her about it with only the two of you and no one else. explain to him/her your good intentions and he/she will appreciate it (it may not be at that precise moment but someday he/she will)

WE ALL HAVE DIFFERENT CAPABILITIES AND INTERESTS. UNLESS ITS SOMETHING TERRIBLY THREATENING WHY CORRECT THEM ? GIVE THEM SOMETHING THEY CAN GRASP AND ENJOY !
