If it's just a DOC file you need to use you can access it in Wordpad and make minimal edits.
Then there's the trial version@ www.trymicrosoftoffice.com
It's difficult to find another program that will do the same as Word, and not pay for it.

No, you must purchase it unless you want to get it illegally which can get you into a lot of trouble. To purchase this software, go to microsoft.com and you can get the newer version 2007 for about a similar price range as a new 2003 edition. Hope this helps!!

but then that would be illegal unless its a trail...or you can sign up for some course that as a member you only have to pay around $14 to $20 for the whole office set
