How would you describe a vietnamese person?

I am vietnamese and from what I can tell, vietnamese people are very very diverse. However, there are tendencies that we split up and hang out with different groups. There are people from the north of vietnam, the south, the central, the mountains, the shores, the islands, etc., all with similarities in some looks, speech patterns, dress, and culture. In terms of our looks, I'd say we are all about short to average height, more on the 5'7" side for males and 5'2" side for females with some REALLY tall ones scattered around. Mostly skinny, tannish to yellowish skin. High cheek bones, alot of us have huge almond eyes contrary to the slanted asian eye.

In terms of behavior, there are some sketchy ones, but most of us have a culture of hardwork and discipline akin to confucianism, which also means we are very VERY traditional. I believe alot of us have a warrior instinct in us also, I have some pretty ferocious friends, and after all, we have fought and overcome several empires and superpowers. I'd say we have very good intentions but sometimes our judgement blinds us and we tend to seperate and argue over little things.

As for culture, we are mainly seperated by two distinct cultures being bac (north) and nam (south). The northerners are traditionalists and idealists while the southerners are more folksy and creative.

Food is a big part of our culture so visit some restaurants if you can!

They are very hardworking people, very intelligent, capable, and ambitious. They come to America without nothing and work like an ant, they are not afraid of challenge. I admire them. They are honest people, sweet and very nice.
