This is a tough one, but the fact is that if there is alcoholism in the family and your sister is drinking like this at age 16, chances are that she is going down the wrong road with the wrong genes. I think if I were in your shoes, I would talk to her, tell her that I was extremely concerned, and insist that she own up to this to your parents. Give her some time to do it. She'll be angry, of course, but give her a chance to do this herself. If she doesn't do it, you will have to. Either way your parents have to know. Sorry, but they just do.

To rat her out, it would make you a good sister, showing the fact that you care enough to worry about her and care enough to post this on yahoo for help. I think that if i were in your place, I would rat her out, even if i might be called a snitch later. Just look at some of the celebs, they drink and drink and just ruin their lives. Does she hang out with bad people? Who knows where it could go from there if she does hang with bad people... Drugs, smoking, etc. But really, why were you snooping on your sisters' facebook? lol i would do the same to my sis' too because she doesn't let me see it :P anyway tell your parents, and i hope your sis isnt punished too much, but enough to learn not to drink anymore. Good Luck and God Bless you and your Family! I'll pray for you and your family.

Tell your parents; if you talk with her first, you tip her off that 1) you know, and 2) you have evidence. No matter what, she'll get very defensive because no 16-year-old should be drinking and all 16 year olds know this. Given your father's history, your parents are the ones better equipped to handle this and they should know as soon as possible. Do NOT take this on on your own; you are not your sister's keeper.
No matter what, she'll resent you for 'ratting her out'. One day, she'll understand that you are looking out for her welfare. For now, let your parents handle this difficult and delicate situation.

NO, dont rat her out.....
Talk to her. She is only 16 and experimenting. If you are older let her know the dangers that go with alcohol.
But when you talk to her DONT yell at her or come off as a parent. Talk to her with concern, let her know you love her and you would hate for anything to ever happen to her. Also let her know how your Dads drinking has effected you guys.

First try to talk to her yourself but keep the evidence and if that doesn't work then you should show it to your mom and no it does not make you a bad sister that makes you a caring sister and when she stops she will realize that and be very thankful

In my opinion you should talk to her about it. Odds are she looks up to you, and if so you will make a bigger impact in her life than your mom wil by grounding her, as a sister advice and protection is the best thing you can give her, and in this case talkig t her first isprobably the best thing to do!!
good luck

If you love your sister - that's exactly what you should do, tell your mom and get help for her.

Maybe you don't need to actually tell your folks--just leave the book lying out (or if you have a copy, leave yours).
