I just started a diet and fitness plan, (to get rid of my pot-belly) and part of the plan is that you MUST drink 64 ounces (eight glasses) of water per day....no exceptions.

The thing is, I like water anyway...so that was easy. Too easy in fact. I eat three average sized meals per day, all with a pretty average salt and sugar content. Not over-doing it, just normal content of both. I usually drink about eight bottles of water per day. The bottles are 16 ounces, so that works out to about a gallon of water per day. That's TWICE what this diet calls for!

Is that a bad thing?

You should divide your weight in half. The number you get is the number of ounces of water you need to drink in a day. (i.e. if you weigh 200 you need 100 oz of water.) This should help solve your problem.

You can die from drinking too much water, but a gallon over the course of an entire day should be okay.

no. water is something that you definetly need. it also flushes bacteria from your system. The worst thing it could possibly do is make you go the the restroom more often.

-They are saying to drink more water, because dehydration and not getting enough water will definetly not help you to be healthy(which is a main factor in dieting).

128oz of water is not too much. Although you can die from too much water but it would take well over 300oz in a very short period of time.
