Christians a very quick to dismiss the tomb of jesus as "sick lies" or "absolutely false" without even hearing the evidence, but if it were proving christianity would they support it without even hearing the evidence?

I'm thinking some miss the question - focusing just on the tomb.
I do think you have a point. I hear a lot from Christians about how this researcher proved this or that. No matter how obscure they are. And any conflicting reports or challenges to this claim are swept under the rug.
I think there are some out there that would seize upon any claim that said it could prove Christianity without a doubt - without any research into the actual claims. But there are some - like my husband, who would actually sit down and look things over.
This can be true of any belief people hold. If they want it to be true bad enough they will cling to anything that comes along that supports it.

I think it's funny that you didn't dismiss it right away. Where is the 2000 year old DNA sample from Jesus of Nazareth to compare with the DNA sample of the remains that were found (the find that occurred 27 years ago and was dismissed then BTW)? Oh, there isn't one? Well that's surprising! How can it be proved then that this is THE Jesus and not someone else? Oh, it can't be! Now do you see why it was dismissed so easily by everyone and not just Christians?
May God Bless you.

Why does it crank your engine!!! The evidence was discovered in the 1980's, and not some much as a wimper then, so why now? Truth is what it is !!! You just think christians can't think objectively. You are very wrong!!! You need to think objectively about christianity
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16
"But as many as received him (Jesus), TO THEM he gave the power to become the Sons of God, even to them that believe in his name, which were born.... not of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but were born of God"- (John 1:12)

Have you ever stopped and read the history behind the tomb? Maybe we are not the only ones who don't take in evidence. You are so bent on disproving Christianity that you do not even take into consideration the evidence that we have for the tomb that says clearly it is not Jesus's Tomb.
You atheist's never cease to amaze me, with your shorthanded tricks and slanted journalism.

im a christian myself, and i think that personally, i would not believe anything without proof...however, sadly, i would say the majority of Christians probably would not look into the scientific evidence and would just take it as true (which is very bad because what if the evidence proved it wrong later on).

It's been over 20 years since the site was found and proven false. I don't think of Christians as being quick to dismiss. How long does it take you to decide. Maybe we aren't quick, maybe you are slow.

how would a tomb prove the Bible to be true? I have faith in the Bible, and the Bible is all the proof i need.
