if the person is convided of a felony, no. Most probation prohitibs you from having contacts with known felons. You will probley have to wait untill you get off of your probation then have it expunged from your record. Why would you want to have a relationship with a inmate? Do you know what kind of stuff goes on in a prison (male or female)? If this person is going to be in for a long time or the rest of yours or thier life, what kind of relationship do you really think you are gonna have? How much money have you sent them, or how many bills have you paid for them. Make sure THEY are in it for love and not just for the money you send them. Prison is hard and most of them just want to scam you. If it is real love, the i wish you the best. Just be carefully, inmates are not in prison because they missed choir pratice. Make sure you are not being used or lied too. Find out what they are really in there for. Make sure and do a search on you local states doc web page. A prison visitation room ( if you are lucky, some are only allowed non contact visits) is no way to live. Family are crying because they have to leave their love one there, kids crying for mom or dad or the love one, to come home with them. One visit a week, and if you live far from where they are at, once a month or even less. Is this the life you really want? Make sure. Marriage is a big step. Be carefull. IF nothing else, contact your propation officer or a lawyer.
