Yes.

Jesus never said anything against homosexuality. He was the only perfect individual in the bible.

Mind you, there *are* pronouncements in the New Testament made against hmosexuality, but they are not made by Jesus. Again, Jesus was the only perfect individual in the bible, and the one who knew best God's will. Surely he would have condemned homosexuality if he wanted folks to believe that it was always sinful in every circumstance.

It is a mistake to believe that everything in the bible is God's word or God's law. I could point out at least one thing: there is a law in the old testament which states that a woman who is raped, but does not cry out loudly, should be killed. I will look up the verse and post it here in a few minutes.

Peace to you in the Lord.

A REAL Christian tries to live by the teachings of Christ. I know some gay people who fit that description very well. I know some who seem to understand honor and faithfulness to their partners far better than many church-going folk.

There are behaviors that we should all avoid, heterosexual and homosexual alike. What bothers me are the judgmental type who see nothing wrong in any type of heterosexual behavior, but condemn all gay people, no matter how faithful they are to their companion.

But maybe this is what Christ meant about throwing the first stone.

And yes, there are gay Christians.

The reason why there are so many different answers to this question is because people interpret the Bible in many different ways.

Some people interpret the Bible literally, although many people who do so don't seem to realize that if they took the BIble literally, then women would not have equal rights in churches and slavery would still be socially acceptable. It's also important to realize that even the Bible plainly contradicts itself in some areas, if you were to read it literally.

Other people interpret the Bible more liberally, according to methods called historical or literary criticism, and basically say that it is important to look at other aspects of when the document was written in order to "interpret" it correctly. The Bible was written over thousands of years in several different languages and is a very complicated book to translate correctly, much less interpret in our 21st century American culture.

In any case, that's why you will receive so many different answers to this question. The best way to resolve this and any question about what the Bible "really says" is to study different methods of biblical interpretation and decide for yourself.

What is a "real" Christian? All Christians are sinners. The Bible says homosexuality is wrong. Personally, I will not debate God about it. I consider myself a Christian. I also believe homosexuality is wrong. But it is not my place to judge people about it. I happen to know people who are homosexuals. However, I will not support homosexuality. Even though I like these people, if the subject ever came up around them, and I was asked how I felt, I wouldn't hesitate to tell them how I feel. The way I see it, you are asking if a person decides to not believe part of the Bible, is he still a Christian? I'm afraid you will have to wait until you are face to face with Jesus and then ask Him. But the Bible is God's word, so I wouldn't pick and choose what parts of it I choose to believe and what parts I choose not to believe just to feel good about myself.

For many Christian advocates of gay rights, it's more in the social/political sphere rather than the religious sphere. The two are separate after all. Christian teachings also tell people to love others, even they're sinners, and that's what's going on.

I believe the true "people of God" are those that see everyone as equal, no matter what a scripture may say. I think you may be more Christian, in the truest sense of the word, than a lot of people professing the same beliefs but seeing others as less than. However, you may not want to pass this view around the pew on Sunday, as not everyone may agree with you. Kudos to you for thinking outside the box and seeing others as God or Christ would.

Proverbs 3:5 (King James Version)
5Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

Homosexuality is a sin. So is fornication (sleeping with your bf or gf before you're married), so is adultery (cheating on your spouse), so is lying, stealing, etc. We ALL need Jesus Christ. God does call homosexuality an abomination. Ultimately sin is sin. I have observed that homosexuality is one of those sins that has a tremendous stronghold even on some Christians. I have an uncle who is a "Christian" gay. He wasn't born that way, he was raped as a child by his aunt's second husband. Homosexuality has such a stronghold, people enslaved will turn their backs on God and family just to fulfill its lust. I love him and treat him with the respect he deserves as my uncle. The only thing I can do is pray for Him.

A true Christian could possibly be in error in thinking on various subjects. However, to live in a homosexual lifesytle would not be
compatible with Christianity.

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 1 Corinth 6:9

It means youre influenced by the worlds thinking and ways. Perhaps you hang around worldly people all day. But its still immoral and you either believe the bible or you dont. You shouldnt hate homosexuals or judge them but you should be aware that they dont care about what God likes and dislikes. They are living in sin. No one is forcing them to have sex with eachother, they love their sins and think about themselves before Gods will
